He missed it! He missed it! Zero looked at his watch and regretted helping Yagari with his nonsensical request. Why would anyone wanted to spend the New Year's night cleaning the headquarters toilets? If it was just one toilet stall, he would understand but the whole headquarters? Shouldn't that be the janitor's work in the first place?

He had planned a something special for the Kuran siblings. A dinner while eating on a balcony sounded perfect to celebrate New Year with the ones he cared but looking at his watch now, the hands were already pointing at twelve and three. All his plans were ruined because of a single request he couldn't refuse.

He walked sluggishly into the academy compound, wondering if he should even try to greet them a Happy New Year. The corridor was dark and nobody seemed to be around. It sounded so empty as if his greeting was not needed. Maybe he should just let this passed and headed on to the Sun dormitory.

Just as he was about to turn heel, he saw a light from afar floating in the air. He squinted his eyes for a better picture and noticed a figure walking towards him. As the fire enlarged, he finally recognized the student. It was Kain Akatsuki with his hand lit. Kain just waved at him to follow, in which he did and they all headed to the headmaster's home. The orange haired vampire waited for him in front of the door and opened it for him.

The living room was empty but his vampires sense perked up to warn him that a crowd of them was in his hunter's bubble. Suddenly the ceiling sparked along with a loud bang and colourful fire flowers decorating the black canvas. Horns were blew as everything were coloured with a flame - like tint.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" he heard them, the people he had known so well, shouting.

He had had a smile which he hid in the gloom of the room.

"Happy New Year to you too", he whispered. Then a pair of arms wrapped around his body.

"I heard that", the offender replied.

"Thank it to your so called pure blood powers". Kaname, Kaname, Kaname, was all he could think of.

"No, it's just you. And by the way, your watch is an hour too fast".

"Oh".

"Damn! We got to put out the fire!" he heard the others panicking as the ceiling was devoured by the fire.
