Summary: A departure was going to occur, and this was the only way she could think of to try to prevent it. He hadn't responded, so now she was running. SasuIno
--Mutual Love--
Kami-sama, how stupid could she be? As the girl ran through the streets, she felt as stinging clear liquid escaped her cerulean eyes. Her blonde hair waved behind her as she zipped through the people. Ino Yamanaka's destination was unclear at the moment. All she knew was that she needed to go far away—away from this place, from this moment, from him. How could she have thought that he would respond to her kiss?
The Yamanaka should have known that was going to happen though. True, she and Sasuke Uchiha had once again rekindled their friendship now that he had returned to Konoha, but he was still one of the most sought after guys in Konoha. The Uchiha was so close to perfection it was scary: intelligent, strong, and gorgeous. Towards the beginning of this new friendship, Ino had kept her feelings to herself, fearing his rejection; his friendship had been enough for her. It surprised her that she could still feel this way after so many years. But now Sasuke was going to be forever out of her reach if she didn't try to stop him from doing something stupid: going on a suicide mission. Truly telling him how she felt had been the only thing Ino could think of doing. Even though to her that kiss had produced the most magical feeling, Sasuke hadn't responded. Now she was running away.
Ino finally came to a halt below the shade of a fully grown tree. As she took a seat on the grass, her slender hand ran through her platinum blonde hair. A few minutes passed before she felt a presence above her. Lifting her head up, her cerulean eyes met a pair of obsidian eyes. It was Sasuke; he had followed her. Feeling a lump in her throat, Ino watched as Sasuke slowly lowered his body to sit in front of her. They waited in silence, staring into each other's eyes. Was this real?
A second was all it took for the man to place his lips on those of the woman. It was with that kiss that the Yamanaka understood Uchiha's previous reluctance: fear. The same fear that had possessed her had possessed him. Yet, they both realized that feeling didn't matter anymore. All that did matter was that their love for one another was mutual.
