Just a short drabble that I got from an OMAKE in 'Lord of Caer Azkaban' by Rorschach's Blot I believe it is in chapter 25.

The dark lords defeat?

"Are you sure about this, Harry, I mean this is Vol- Vold- Voldemort you're talking about. Doesn't he just kill these sorts of things?"

"Come on, this is brilliant, how many other creatures do you know of that are cute enough to turn an insane megalomaniac from killing off everything you care about."

"Tell you the truth, mate, I didn't even know that this would"

"Ron you heard Hermione after she read those books on psychiatry 'Tom Riddle clearly had emotional issues as a child, probably as a result of not having someone to love him and give love to him in return'. Well He should have something to love now."

"But a KITTEN"

"Don't bother, Ron, you know how Harry gets when he is in this kind of mood. With any luck the, admittedly adorable, animal will at least eat wormtail before she gets blasted"

"Hermione, when did you get here?"

"Just now Harry, let's send that Christmas present before it gets any later in the season."

Not more than three hours later in a dilapidated mansion, a certain snake- faced fiend was fiendishly plotting with his idiots… err, death eaters. This plotting was interrupted by an owl that swooped in and dropped a brightly wrapped parcel in front of him before flying off, so as not to be blown up. Mildly curious he opened it to find himself looking into the green and yellow eyes of the most adorable kitten he had ever seen.

The death eaters were decidedly horrified when their lord and master began cooing at this strange new animal. Even more horrified when, after she got a good look at it, Bellatrix squealed and joined her lord in playing with the purring kitten. They decided that they must save their lord and his right hand woman from the dangers of precocious little animal. However at first they couldn't decide on who would undertake this harrowing task. Finally, after much squabbling, and an intense round of Rock, Paper, Scissors, it was decided that only one, Wormtail, was Brave enough… i.e. stupid enough, to undertake this quest.

Unfortunately, for him anyway, he decided that he needed stealth and so turned into his rat form. He was promptly attack by the worlds cutest kitten, this elicited several more round of 'coo at the cat' from the two crazies in the room. Then when the cat failed to kill or eat him Nagini, who was loyal to her master and therefore loyal to the cat, ate him.

Several weeks later the war had ended because the death eaters had run out of steam after their two cruelest fighters, the dark lord and Belletrix, were too busy playing with the cat to pay any attention what so ever.
