When He Left the World

Another one-shot, since Asuma died, I decided to write a story. But sniff sniff, Asuma dies. Asuma x Kurenai

She waited by her window and watched as the rain poured down onto the empty streets of Konoha. The sky was crying like the day the Third Hokage died. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. She felt a feeling in her heart that made her feel as is she wanted to burst.

"The smoke is getting in my eyes," cried Shikamaru. He closed his eyes, squeezing out the tears. He couldn't bear to see his sensei's dead body just lying there.
"Asuma-taicho..." whispered Kotetsu sadly.
Chouji couldn't believe what he was seeing, it couldn't be true.
"NO!!!!" he said trying to break out of it, "He's not dead! He can't be dead!" he sobbed. The thought of this was unbearable, his sensei would never see the day he would become a jounin, any of them.
"It's time we go back," Aoba said suddenly, coming out of the trance. "I think Kurenai would like to know..." his voice trailed off when he realized what he had just said. Why couldn't he just keep his mouth shut?
"Kurenai-sensei? Why would she need to know?" Ino asked still trying to restrain her tears form pouring down her face like a waterfall.
"Because they had a relationship..."
"Great, just great, now you tell us," Chouji huffed.
They all stood there for a moment of silence.
"Let's go now," mumbled Izumo breaking the silence.
They left bringing Asuma's body along to Konoha.

She heard a light knock on her door. Kurenai opened to find Gai there doing his good guy pose. He gave her a thumbs up and flashed her a super smile.
"Whassssssup Kurenai!" he yelled out, "the Hokage wants to see you in her office."
"Okay, I'm coming," she said quietly.
Gai felt that something was not right.

There were two light knocks on the door.
"Come in," said the Hokage.
"You called for me?" questioned Kurenai.
"Yes I did, Asuma's group and Aoba's group have returned, I want you to go meet them," she said solemnly.
"Hai."
Kurenai left the Hokage Tower, the heaviness on her chest just got heavier. Maybe this mission will take her mind off of it.

When she had met up with the team, she felt a bit brighter because she would get to see Asuma. But she stopped in her tracks when she saw that Asuma's body was limp and was being carried by Raido. Everyone looked like they had cried and Shikamaru was smoking for some odd reason. Shikamaru had always said that he would never smoke so that meant something was wrong.
"Asuma..." she said hoping he would wake up. But he didn't. Then she knew exactly what was wrong.
He was dead. Sarutobi Asuma was dead.
Please review to tell me what you think, I think it was a bit weird and brief. Maybe a bit dark.
