Squinty

"Hey, Fubuki-san, can I ask you something?" the girl asked in a quiet manner.
Fubuki, charming as ever, replied, "Sure thing, darling. What would you like to know?"
"If it's personal, I'll understand, but…"
"No, no, go ahead and ask your question."
"Why are you always squinting?"
Fubuki blinked. "I'm always squinting? I never noticed that before…"
The girl continued, "Yeah. Whenever I'm around, you're always squinting. I don't know if it happens when I'm not around or not, but… oh, is there something about me that you don't find attractive? Is my hair too frizzy? Do I have…" She gasped. "A pimple?"
Fubuki's date continued to ramble on and on about the possible things that could possibly be wrong with her physically, but the Blizzard Prince was too busy wondering about her comment.
I've never noticed that I was squinting before…
Of course, now that she mentions it, my eyes are always pretty tense…
But whenever I open my eyes too wide, I get these awful headaches.
Maybe it's a side effect of… you know, being in the darkness for so long. My eyes must have adjusted so much to seeing in the dark that it's taking me this long to re-adjust to average sunlight.
Huh.
"Is it that my fingernails are too long? I'm so sorry… I'll have them trimmed even further back right away…"
"There's nothing wrong with you," Fubuki replied with a cheerful smile, causing his date to look up at him, tears in her eyes. "You're beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that you nearly glow with perfection. In fact, to me, your beauty shines so brightly that whenever you're around, I have to close my eyes slightly so that I can see you clearly."
The girl nearly fainted from delight, settling instead with cuddling up next to her companion as she walked. "Oh, Fubuki, you're so charming."
Fubuki smiled. Well, it wasn't a total lie.
