There was little Henry could do about the current situation – apart from die. Of course he would need to tell Jo the truth, then again he would save her from a psychopathic killer, then again…

"Jo, how uncomfortable are you…actually"

If looks could kill Henry would be floating in the river.

"I mean can we get out of this, you are a very good police officer so I assume…"

"Henry I'm a great police officer, what I am not, however, is Houdini!" She snapped, almost spitting in his face, due to circumstances currently awkwardly close to hers.

"Just a recap in case you are living a different life to me – we are in a box, on a boat – a sinking boat, tied very tightly to each other. No phone, no backup to rescue us because someone", she paused for breath "decided to head off on his own investigation and someone else stupidly decided to follow".

"On reflection not the finest hour for either of us"

"HENRY!" Jo struggled against the ropes in frustration more than a realistic attempt to escape "I swear I could kill you"

"That may yet be an option detective" his response calmly inciting her to further anger.

"If we get out of this, I swear Henry its over, that's it – I'm out. I'm sick of the half truths, the mysterious double entendre the freakishly creepy manner in which you seem to know how everyone dies"

For the first time since being tied, Henry paused in his thoughts. Not being with Jo was never considered option. He trusted her – when he normally trusted no one. Henry Morgan was a man of many attributes; one of these was being slightly self-focused. He turned his attention to the woman in front of him. Slightly furrowed brow indicating confusion, he met her eyes directly "you are saying that out of fear, yes of course, the fear response – particularly in these situations…you see when a person…"

Sudden pain in his groin stopped further supposition.

"I'm sorry Henry but that was the only way I could get you to shut up, and my knee is the only part of my body not tied down"

"I see your logic Detective", he wheezed through the searing ache "I think there may have been an alternative"

"To shutting you up..I don't see h-"

Henry's lips crushed against hers. The confines of their surroundings meant Jo could do little in way of retreat. She was unable to move her head back, and after the initial surprise found she didn't want to.

"This is so inappropriate", she managed to murmur as their mouths melded closer, bodies tied together, loosening the tightness of the ropes.

"I think in the situation" he panted "anything goes"

Reason overtook instinct, Jo managed to draw back, enough for Henry to stop.

"Henry, now really?"

"You've never said you would leave before"

"You think you are such a good kisser that that would keep me", she took a moment to reflect on the past few minutes "actually you might be onto something"

"We need to get out of here" her voice more determined than previously.

"Jo, he didn't take your gun"

"What, what do you mean – I didn't see what he did before we woke up tied together"

"I assume he thought we were going to die anyway, no reason to remove your weapon"

"But how did you know?"

Henry blushed slightly, causing a rush of excitement in Jo "so inappropriate" her internal monologue groaned.

"Well, when we were – well whilst I was, well why you were, well anyway I felt it, I mean I felt a bulge"

"You felt a bulge – again so inappropriate" She was honest enough to admit her mind was not focused.

"Ok there is a gun – and what good is that right at this moment"

Henry breathed in, holding her eyes with his.

"You need to shoot me"
