Back to the Future – Calvin's Story
26 October 1985
Calvin McFly awoke, as his twin brother Marty was rummaging around. "Marty? What is up?" he asked.
"Doc Brown asked me to meet him at the Lone Pine Mall, some sort of experiment…" Marty said.
Calvin looked at the alarm clock. "At 12:50 in the morning?" he asked.
"So? You know the Doc, he is secretive" Marty said.
Marty finished getting dressed, and left.
Calvin thought he had better keep an eye on Marty, and decided to follow him to the Lone Pine Mall. He quickly dressed and went to follow Marty.
Calvin arrived at the Lone Pine Mall just after 1:20. What he saw shocked him!
He could see from his vantage point that Doc Brown was on the ground, and Marty was screaming! He wanted to run over to them, but then he heard the sharp report of gunfire! Some people were attempting to shoot Marty from a van, Marty ran around keeping behind Doc's van, and hopped into a (De Lorean?) sports car that was nearby. Soon the attackers were chasing the car, De Lorean, around the parking lot. A minute later, the De Lorean vanished! Leaving a pair of fire trails behind, though not before somehow producing a lot of light in front of it. The attackers could not avoid crashing into a photo kiosk in front of the Mall.
He then saw another thing impossible. He saw Marty run out from somewhere, over towards where Doc Brown had been shot.
He soon saw, even from the distance that Doc Brown was wearing a bullet proof vest. He took the opportunity to run over to Marty and Dr. Brown.
However…
"Hi Doc, Marty what is, or was, this all about? What did happen here?" Calvin asked after he had approached Marty and Doc Brown.
Marty was almost in shock! "Who are you?" he asked, he couldn't get any more out.
"Great Scott! The timeline must have changed, so that Marty… ….has a twin brother!" Doc Brown said, concerned. His original self's invention of the De Lorean time machine, has now completely changed the history of the McFly family…
"What?" Calvin asked.
"Woah, this is heavy!" Marty said, understanding now what has happened, though his apparent twin still looked confused, couldn't blame him, considering that he himself didn't believe in time travel either, before he had ended up back in 1955.
"What has happened here, it is like my twin brother doesn't recognise me" Calvin said, in a panic.
"It's my fault! I created a time machine, and the Libyan terrorists came, and Marty accidentally went back to 1955, and interfered with your parent's courtship/dating in high school, he had to make sure that they kissed at that dance, before he used the clock stopping lightening strike to return to 1985. I didn't realise that his family might be different when he returned" Doc Brown said. Calvin still looked confused. Doc was going to try to explain more when Marty interrupted.
"It is not a good idea to stay here, the Libyans…" Marty said.
"Quite right, where is the De Lorean?" Doc Brown asked.
"In Courthouse square, the engine stalled after I returned" Marty said. The 3 of them hopped into Doc Brown's van, though Calvin took some coaxing from Marty.
And like that Calvin's life had changed; he hoped that it might be a bad dream…
