1. Prologue

Dearest Cousin,

I'll be brief, for my excitement is too much to bear.

Finally, my lessons are completed. I graduated at the top of my class,

and can not wait until I return home to Misselthwaite. I've missed

you, Dickon, Martha, Ben, and just about everyone! I expect to be

home in a few days. Please, tell me everything that has happened

while I was gone.
