'Wake up Matt' screamed Liz, Ã'It's almost noon'
'Ok Mom' Matt mumbled.
Matt got up and got dressed. He couldn't wait to be old enough to be on his own. The rest of his friends got to sleep and enjoy their summer vacation while he had to help his father on the farm.
'About time you got your lazy behind out of bed' yelled Fred.
'Sorry Dad' Matt said with his head down.
Matt went over to old Betsy and started hooking up the plow. He hated this time of the year. It was too hot and his father had him slaving under the hot August sun for hours at a time.
Matt just finished hooking up the plow to Betsy when he felt a strong gust of wind. It was uncommon for such a strong gust this time of the year but the boy appreciated it and thought nothing of it. Then there was another gust and this time the sky darkened. Finally Matt looked up to see what was causing the wind and why it suddenly got dark.
Matt fell to the ground in shock when he saw the objects in the sky. He slowly got to his feet and ran to the house as fast as he could. He came stumbling through the front door.
'Shouldn't you be out helping your father' Liz asked.
Liz looked at Matt and he was white as a ghost.
'What is going on, Son'
Matt could not speak. He just pointed outside. Liz quickly ran to the window and could not believe her eyes.
'Where is your father?' Liz asked with a tremble in her voice.
Matt started crying 'I don't know. The wind picked up and i saw the space ships and ran into the house.'
They were both startled by the sounds of gun shots and they cautiously went outside.
'You will not take my land without a fight' screamed Fred.
Suddenly a beam of light shot out of one of the ships and disenegrated Fred in front of Liz and Matt. They quickly turned and ran into the house. Liz took Matt into her bedroom and locked the door. She flew over to her night table and took out the Bible and started reading aloud passages and asking for help from God.
Suddenly there was a loud bang. Matt and Liz cautiously crawled to the window to look outside. They were amazed at what they saw. It was Jesus Christ and he had to be at least 10 feet tall! Their prayers had been answered!
'Begone Demons and Leave My People Be!' shouted Jesus to the Space crafts.
As an act of defiance the ships fired their lasers at Jesus. They just bounced off his chest like light on a mirror.
'So that's how you want it to be' laughed Jesus.
Out of his eyes flew pure white late that eroded the ships where they were right in the sky.
Matt and Liz ran out of the house and to Jesus.
'Thank you Jesus' they screamed in unison.
'You're Welcome' said Jesus 'I can not let harm come to my people. I'm sorry I didn't get here in time to save Fred'
Matt and Liz started crying again.
'Maybe there is something I can do' thought Jesus and with a wave of his hand he brought back Fred.
'What happened?'
Matt and Liz ran to him and gave him a hug.
Jesus smiled and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
