Starfire sat on the roof, for the first time since she had come to this planet she felt completely alone. Her friends obviously liked her sister better than they liked her. 'who wouldn't like Blackfire more than me she's prettier, smarter…'
"Perhaps I do not belong here after all," she said, holding her head in her hands.
Suddenly a familiar voice causes her heart to leap in both surprise and the feelings she knew she had for him. "Of course you don't you belong down there, having fun with the rest of us, what's wrong?" Robin asked. He started to walk over to her.
Starfire sat up straight and said, "nothing is wrong everything is wonderful," Robin sat beside her, "the pounding music and blinding lights are quite enjoyable." She looked down at her hand resting on her lap.
Robin gave her a look that said I know something is wrong, he always knew when something was wrong with her.
"Everything is not wonderful, I am happy to see her but Blackfire rules the video games and she is able to share very depressing poems, and she knows the cool moves and she always knows when people are not talking about shovels." Starfire said her voice gets sadder as she lists her sister's superiority.
Robin gives her a slightly confused look at the last part. "And I am nothing like her."
Robin places a comforting hand on her shoulder all he wants is to make her feel better, he can't believe Starfire would think so little of herself, to him Starfire was the greatest girl he had ever known he wanted her to see that. "No you're not, and I think… I think your smart, you have the biggest heart, and you're… you're beautiful"
Starfire's heart skips a beat and a small smile graces her features. "You think I'm beautiful?" she asked.
"Yeah I do." He said, before he even knew what he was doing his eyes moved from hers and to her lips and he leaned in and kissed her softly. He pulled away and both he and Starfire were smiling.
Suddenly Blackfire opened a window on the roof and flew out, she wore a pink wig, "how do I look?" she asked her eyes were on Robin.
"Hey look can you give us a minute" Robin asked.
Blackfire looked annoyed and maybe even a little sad, when the song form downstairs switched to another. Blackfire's mood quickly changed to elation and flew over and grabbed Robin and dragged him into the warehouse.
Starfire was once again alone, only this time she had hope, she had hope that she truly did belong on this planet, maybe she belonged with Robin.
