Immoral - If actions have in themselves a moral character apart from and nowise dependent on, their consequences--then all philosophy is a lie and reason a disorder of the mind

Light's eyes affixed themselves upon L. Scanning his hair, his face before settling on his eyes. Those cold dark dead eyes dripping with life.
Life. And that is what he would have now. L was now truly untouchable. Light's plan to trick the shinigami failed, it was all about to end. No options were left. No way out.

"L..." he started, drifting his eyes away from the human thinking machine.
L's eyes darted to the side quite casually, beginning to like his enemy...or was it his friend's... intelliect. Perhaps he had something new to offer.
"Yes, Light-kun," he stated, inserting a slice of apple into his mouth. Why fruit, he thought. He didn't remember bringing that in.
Light moved closer to his counterpart. To his ear, hidden amongst the mass of air. His breath formed a whisper inside it. A whisper that was only voiced after checking his watch one last time.

"I'm Kira"

"Ki-" he stopped. The word wouldn't come out. He grasped at his throat. The apple! The sudden outburst had shocked him so much he caused himself to choke. On an apple of all things. He tried to cough but it was no good, it wasn't going to come out.
But he was right all along. Kira was right.
He had to warn the rest of them. Somehow. He threw the cup of coffee towards Light's face, erupting in a scream of agony.
The force he put into the throw knocked him off his chair. Onto his back. With Light standing above him. With Kira standing above him. With Satan himself standing above him, ending his life, even without the notebook. Bastard.

But L was not alone.

The task force joined him on their knees. Each one clutching their chests. The only three not there were his father Soichiro Yagami, whom Light had previously sentenced to the Death Note earlier that day along with his mother and sister, and Ide, who would die of a heartattack but land on a urinal. Watari would die in a control room but he wouldn't have time to delete all of the data stored on the computers. Light now had access to it all. He would learn new things that could have caused him downfall, that could have killed him.

Light's next action was one he didn't have to think about. He laughed. He laughed so loud and so much that his own throat began to hurt but he didn't care. He didn't even mind that he'd kept Misa alive. This was it. This was the moment he had waited for. The moment to become a God. Even God needs to create a Jesus eventually! He no longer needed to check his watch.

"Goodbye, Ryuzaki. You were the only equal to me in this world."
He stood up, dusting off his trousers. "But you weren't good enough. Light took the rest of the apple from the table and threw it up into the air.

"Everyone dies at their specified time. Right, Ryuk?" Light stated, calming himself one more. Regaining composure as the apple vanished.

"RiiiiGHtt," the shinigami mumbled, as he devoured the apple that killed L. An apple that killed the world.
