ten bottles of chardonnay

Disclaimer: Not mine.

Eyeballing the bottle standing in front of you, you sigh and try your best not to let your eyelids droop. Every time you close your eyes you see him and her, their perfect little family unit. It makes you feel sick, sick that you allowed yourself to believe he loved you, when really he was on the rebound and you were the closest thing to him.

You wonder if it would be worth it to neck the bottle down in the one gulp, but you instantly regret your thoughts. You're stronger than this, you're not going to fall down the path of alcohol dependency again, you've broken free for over a month, an achievement that you're very proud of. You tell yourself over and over again that you don't need to drink to feel better, you can manage that on your own.

But somewhere at the back of your head, a little niggling voice whispers 'Liar' to you, and you find it way too hard to ignore.

You sit your glass up straight and reach for the bottle. Tearing the wrapper away, you manage to bite the cork off and you pour it halfway into your glass before bringing it up to your mouth and gulping it down in the one swallow.

You've succumbed to your urges, and you're too broken-hearted to care.

Re-filling the bottle, you take another gulp and the familiar sensations come rushing back. You can pretend to yourself that he doesn't matter to you and you don't need him to survive, even if it's just for the one night.

You'll drink yourself silly tonight and wake up with a banging headache in the morning, but what is there to lose?

Your life is already destroyed.

Pretty crap, I know. Please leave a review, and obviously, it's set after Monday the 12th of December's 8:30 episode, after Carla saw Peter and Leanne playing happy families.
