The Hard truth
After a visit from Kikyo Inuyasha is forced to make the hardest decision of his life. Sending Kagome away. Little does he know that Kagome is carrying his pups. Will Inuyasha come to
his senses and choice to be with Kagome? Or will disaster strike?
Kagome's POV
He left us, left us to be with her.
I met Inuyasha on his side of the well after going home to really see if what I think I was with was true… I was so excited to find out that I was pregnant! The best part being is that
the baby growing inside me was this baby belong to Inuyasha and I. I just got out of the well when Inuyasha met up with me; he came with a serious look on his face. "Kagome, we
need to talk." His tone of voiced match his face. "Good there is something I need to tell you as well." I knew I was smiling, I just could not stop. I was bursting on the inside. All I
wanted to do was blurt out the news to him. I said on the edge of the well waiting for Inuyasha to speak his mind. Inuyasha drew in a deep breath. "Kagome, I have been thinking.
Now that Naraku has been long dead and the Jewel is completed. I am going to make a wish on it."
Honestly, I was surprised. I thought I was going to have to wish on it, for it to disappear forever. Inuyasha's gaze met mine, deep emotion hid beneath those ember eyes. "I'm going
to make a wish for Kikyo to be fully alive once again. So I may be with her." To say I was shocked was beyond words, tears wield up in my eyes. My hand automatically going to my
stomach, our baby, no my baby now will never know their father. With my head bowed I got up from the well and made my way to Kaede's hut.
I entered the hut to find everyone gathered around a fire. As soon as Sango saw me she rushed to my side. "Kagome, what happened?" She said concern filling her features.
"Inuyasha, she chose Kikyo." I finally broke down, my hands on my stomach. "He doesn't care, that night meant nothing to him. I'm just her damn copy." Each passing moment with
every word my heart was breaking more. "He doesn't care about me or this baby." Sango gathered me in her arms. "What baby?" She asked. Shippo came over to us jumped into my
lap holding me close to him. "I'm pregnant!" Confusion clouded Sango's face.
It dawned on me that they wouldn't understand the term pregnant. "It means I'm going to have a baby." Alone I thought as more tears poured down my face. Sango was surly
surprised. "Does that mean I'm going to have a brother or sister?" Shippo asked a huge smile across his face. "I can't stay." Shippo's smile vanished. "What? You not going to leave
us are you?" Tears started to well up in his eyes. "I have to Shippo, I can't stay here, I never belonged." I drew him into a huge hug. "I will always be in your heart." I whispered into
his ear. I gave each of my friends who have become my family a tearful goodbye, after much protest I fled the hut making sure to give Sango the Jewel. On my way to the well I kept
seeing red flashes meaning Inuyasha. I walked faster trying to reach the well before he reached me.
I was about at the well when Inuyasha appeared in front of me. "Kagome, wait." Inuyasha said as I tried to verve away from him, tears again threatening in my eyes. When I
showed no sign of stopping Inuyasha caught a hold of my wrist. "Let go of me." I yelled as I tried to get my wrist free. "Kagome." Inuyasha started. I had to get him to let go of me,
so I said the one thing I knew would hurt him to the core of his being. I hated the thought of just saying those words, but I had to get away from. "I hate you… you filthy half breed."
As soon as those words left my mouth my heart dropped to my stomach. The look on his face was indescribable. This was my only chance to get away; I pulled my wrist free and ran
to the well. I jumped into the well, as soon as my feet touched down on my side I quickly closed up the well. Those tears I was holding in came rushing to the surface. I was along
now, asides from my family. I was on my own to raise this baby. How does that saying go?, only time will heal my wounds. I don't think time will ever be enough for my wounds to
heal.
Inuyasha's POV
Do you ever wonder why Karma comes back to punish you just when you believe that things are going well? I'm wondering that at this very moment. What have I done that has
caused karma to come and rip the one person who I care for most out of my life? I was waiting for Kagome to return home from her time, she said that she had to check something
out; she'd tried to come back as soon as she could. I had noticed there was a difference ever since I asked her to stay here in the feudal era with me. That night lead into a
wonderful night of bliss. As I waited for Kagome, I spotted off in the distance Kikyo's soul collectors. They were summoning me. I thought about going after her for a moment, I need
to tell Kikyo that I have chosen Kagome. My legs began running in that direction, soon i was in a clearing where Kikyo was waiting. "Inuyasha, I'm going to get straight to the point.
You must force Kagome to leave this era." I cut in. "What? Why would i do such a thing?" Kikyo sighed and began. "The Jewel Kagome is guarding has been defiled, even if it's
purified. The Jewel will most likely kill Kagome in order to be completely defiled again, only after being in the hands of Naraku..." Kikyo paused for a moment then added. "If you do
not send her away, then her death will be on your hands Inuyasha." Kikyo's soul collectors swarmed around her then she vanished. What was I going to do? You have to send her
away, it is for her protection my conscience shoot back at me. I made my way back to the well where Kagome's scent had just appeared. I sighed knowing what i was about to do is
going to be one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I just had enough time to put on a serious face before Kagome climbed out of the well.
"Kagome, we need to talk." I tried as hard as I could to make sure my tone matched my face. "Good, there is something i need to tell you as well." Kagome said, she could not stop
smiling, it broke my heart just looking at her. How happy she is only to have her heart broken as well. I sighed again then continued. I had to make sure I sounded convincing.
"Kagome, I have been thing. Seeing as Naraku has been defeated, and the Jewel is complete. I am going to make a wish on it." Kagome had a surprise look on her face. "I'm going
to wish for Kikyo to be full alive again, so I may be with her." I could smell salt coming from Kagome, she was crying. Her hands went to her stomach for some reason. She tried to
stand tall and strong as she got up from the well and made her way towards Kaede's hut. With each step I knew she was breaking inside just as I was.
I decided to follow her to Kaede's hut just to listen to what was going on. I could hear everything that was said, but what caught my attention the most was that Kagome said she
was with child. My heart swelled at the thought of being a father, the best part was that my pups could not have a better mother than Kagome. As Kagome said her final goodbyes
and exited the hut. I ran after her so I could tell her the truth. "Kagome, wait." I said as i landed in front of her. She tried to get away from me, but I was not going to allow it. I
graded a hold of her wrist. "Kagome." I started by she cut me off by yelling. "I hate you...you filthy half breed." I could not believe she just said that, I was too shocked to do
anything. Kagome ripped away from my grasp and ran towards the well. I was not able to make myself move to go after her. The shock of what she had just said tearing apart my
heart. As Kagome disappeared form my sight, I was able to move again. I just into the well after her, I expected the blue light to engulf me. I was not going to let her get away from
me, I have pushed her away to many time before. I will not make that mistake again. The well did not transport me to Kagome era, but it stayed in mine. It dawned on me Kagome
had closed up the well. Tears sprang to my eyes, Kagome is really gone. I let out a heartfelt scream. "KAGOME."
