"The fine china's by the sink," Rose says as she walks onto the porch.

James sighs and flicks a couple of pebbles away, "I still can't believe it. You know Aunt Penelope's claiming those old diamond rings?"

Teddy ducks out of the house, "Some random uncle just grabbed the wizard radio set. You'd think that they'd be grieving rather than trying to get as much of that rubbish as they can."

"Just be glad that mum's not here," Al mutters, "This would break her heart."

"It started with your Granddad's wand," Hugo says, "Then they went for Uncle Harry's cloak."

James smirks, "They didn't get it."

"How do you know?" Rose asks.

"Cause dad gave it to me before school this year, it's in my trunk at the bottom."

Rose nods, then flinches at the shrieks coming from the house, "Guess someone found Aunt Ginny's quilts."

"Didn't Grandma Molly make those?" Al asks.

"Some of them," Teddy answers, "I was there when she gave them to mum. Some of them have been in the family for years."

"If daddy were here he'd be hexing and cursing everyone," Lily mutters, finally speaking.

Teddy nods his agreement.

James huffs, "I don't get it. What's the rush to get everything? Mum's only been…been…been gone for a day or two."

"I can't believe that the family's broken up like it has," Al mutters, "It's like everything we've been through together doesn't matter."

All six are quiet and watchful. Family members who they normally were quite amicable with were taking anything that wasn't stuck down with a permanent sticking charm. Hermione and Ron could be seen trying to stop some of the people, though it is obvious that both of them are in no condition to be arguing. It doesn't help that they're trying to find the will, which has mysteriously become missing.

Lily scowls before letting out a snarl. "I wish the whole house would go up in flames!"

"Lily! Don't be so rash!"

"Come on Lils, you don't mean it."

"I do! Who gives a damn about any of this? Mum's barely been in the ground, and these people don't care! They're just taking everything!" Lily says, her voice cracking on the last word.

Teddy sighs, sending a discreet glare at the people in the house before standing, "Ok, come along, we're going to my place where we can have some privacy."

Rose and Hugo nod, standing up and walking, knowing that they'd use the floo at their house just down the street. James motions for all to follow him and places his arm along Al's shoulders. Lily gives one last glare before walking alongside Teddy, hoping that their family, their true family, would eventually turn back to normal.

Mischief Managed

AN/ Ok, so this fic is based on the song "Family Feud" by Pistol Annies. It's a oneshot, so this is it. I tend to find a lot of inspiration in music and this works while I'm working on other stories. Please review because this is the first time I have written the next generation, and am curious as to if I wrote them alright.
