Word Count: Two 100-word drabbles, each using the WoW.
Warnings/Spoilers: Only from what I've heard...that Sam gets a dog in Season 8.
Summary: Heard that Sam gets a dog in Season 8 (see above). Maybe this is how they met.
Not Alone Anymore
Sam sank slowly to the pavement, his back sliding down the side of a dumpster. His jaw ached where he had been punched – seems like he had a tendency for picking fights lately. He pulled his stained hoodie over his head, as the chill of the cool autumn air nipped at his ears.
You have a hard time taking care of yourself, he thought, ….without Dean around.
Dick was destroyed. But Dean was gone.
Sam heard sounds behind the fetid dumpster. Normally he would be on his feet, a hunter on his guard. Now Sam just didn't care.

The dog approached the dumpster, but stopped short upon seeing the dejected figure of a man. The man was sitting, leaning against the dumpster, his hair unkempt, his clothes wrinkled. The dog approached cautiously, sniffing, then nipped at the man's pant leg.
"Hey!" Sam Winchester growled.
The dog retreated, eyes wide and ears back, a growl in his throat.
Sam extended a hand, palm up. "I'm sorry, boy. Seems like I haven't been myself...my brother's gone, and I'm all alone..."
The dog tilted his head at the sound of the man's soft voice.
Then let's be alone, together.
