The Greatest Question on Supernatural,
Answered by your humble Master of TribblesWhy has God left the building?
Sure the last century was hard, he's had to smite a couple of people, orchestrate a few wars, save a few thousand lives, but was it really so tough? Could there be something more to God's disappearance?
Clearly, the answer can be summed up in one word.
Winchesters.
In no way am I implying that God is afraid of guns.
God is scared of Dean and Sam Winchester.
Can you blame him?
The Norse God Vanir never asked for much. He had a simple life dressed as a Scarecrow hanging out in innocent looking apple orchards and only killing two people a year. It was for the good of the town. And yet, for this small act he was brutally slaughtered by a simple act of arson by the quick-to-judge Winchesters.
Two Winter Solstice Gods that used to have all the fun in the world celebrating the holidays with a little human sacrifice were cutting back: only two humans a year but no… Dean and Sam have a very strict policy on eating humans: you don't. The Gods were killed for violating this rule.
The Balkans forest God Leshii used to love being idolized, but to be fair, she did go on a bit of a killing spree. Well more so than those other Gods. It was a short but gritty affair when the Winchester said "Enough is enough."
After seeing four Gods viciously slaughtered, can you really blame God for not wanting to show up on earth?
Any misdeed, inadvertent killing of (sometimes) worthy humans, could be falsely translated by the Winchesters into a kill-on-sight order.
Somebody needs to tell God that it's okay.
The Winchesters will let his mistakes slide by.
This time.
