The fox mask slowly slid down his face, revealing his tear filled eyes. He knew at this moment that he could not live without her. Somehow she had become his most precious person. She lay there unconscious a huge gash down her side.
He glanced wildly around. Tsunade was busy rearranging the landscape, and he couldn't find Sakura.
About two hours ago another attack from the Sound Village had started. The attacks had become more frequent as Orochimaru became more desperate. The ANBU had been on guard non-stop for three days straight when the Sound ninjas were spotted. Neji, as head of the ANBU, barked out orders. Naruto vaguely remembered him yelling about whom they were to take out first.
Naruto had been helping Tsunade with Orochimaru; Hinata had been taking on Kabuto. He had seen it in slow motion. She had been attaking with her juuken. Hinata had seen an opening but as she parried his attack, and flew forward with her own, he reached under her arm with his chakra blade and sliced open her flesh.
She had gone down hard. He could only rush to her side the flash of yellow he was.
Her breathing was slowing down almost to a stop. He needed to find Sakura. He tried signaling someone, anyone.
Sakura shook her head. She was about a kilometer away but no matter how distracted she was by all the fighting around her, she could not miss Naruto. The blonde never ceased to amaze her. He was waving his arms way above his head, jumping up and down, and shouting for help. She wondered whether or not the blonde knew he was attracting the attention of most everyone around him, enemy ninja and ally ninja alike. She suspected the latter.
Sakura rolled over to them seemingly out of nowhere.
"Oi! Sakura! There you are!"
"Naruto quit fooling around and go help out Tsunade!" she steamed.
He blinked. He had forgotten all about Tsunade. He looked back at Hinata.
"Go Naruto! She is going to be fine." Her hand started to glow green.
Naruto bent down to kiss Hinata's forehead then proceeded to turn pink.
"Go Naruto…" she said with a soft smile.
He jumped right back into the fight with a rasangan directed towards Orochimaru.
"Thanks for finally joining in…" Tsunade glared.
"Just wait, the best part was when Naruto showed up to the hospital with that…"
Ino was interrupted. The ANBU had all been sitting around telling stories about their younger days when Konohamaru stepped in.
"Sorry to interrupt but the Hokage has new missions for you. He also says he would like to be invited next time you decide to reminisce…"
