Author's Note: So, I don't know if I should leave this as a "Pilot" chapter so that I can come back to it after I've written more chapters of my other fics or if I should continue with it whilst continuing my other fics. I would be grateful if, if you leave me a review after reading this chapter, you would let me know what you think I should do! Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this chapter and happy reading! x
With trembling fingers, Maria readjusted the strap of her negligee on her shoulder.
Once she had untwisted it and set it back into place she looked at her reflection in the mirror and ran both hands down the front of her negligee to smooth out any wrinkles. The garment was so silky under her palms. It had a sweetheart neckline and ended a few inches above her knees and - even though most women wouldn't consider it overly revealing - it was the most revealing thing she had ever worn. She had to admit that she rather liked the way it looked on her frame though.
It fit her like a glove and clung to her curves and she was positive that, even though she felt quite exposed, she had never worn something so beautiful before in her life. She just hoped that Georg would think that it was as beautiful as she did. The mere thought of him leaving the en-suite and seeing her in the negligee after his shower made her heart race inside her chest, but whether it was from nerves or excitement she wasn't sure. All she knew was that she yearned to please him.
From the moment they had been pronounced man and wife that morning he had spent the entire day making her feel as loved and as special as he could and she was more than ready to return the favour. He would tell her that this evening should be all about her when he left the en-suite, she knew he would, but she wouldn't agree. This was his wedding night just as much as it was hers and she would stop at nothing to make him feel as adored as she knew he would make her.
That wasn't to say that she wasn't nervous, however, because she was. He had been married once; he knew how a wedding night was supposed to go and what he was supposed to do, but she had no idea and the last thing she wanted to do was make an idiot of herself. Another thing that she was worried about was the pain. Over the last two months the women that had been helping to prepare her for married life had said that the first time she made love it would be uncomfortable.
She knew that Georg would never hurt her intentionally though and that - if she did experience a bit of pain during their lovemaking - he wouldn't be to blame for it. She knew that his love for her was deeper than anything she could imagine - he had told her that many times - and so she trusted him with everything. He had taught her so much over the last couple of weeks; he had held her when she had been tired and irritated and she would forever be grateful to him for that.
The sound of the water from the shower being cut off told her that Georg had finished freshening up a few minutes later and so she made her way over to his bed, a nervous sigh escaping her as she sat down on the edge of it and laid her hands in her lap. She waited there for him to dry off and change for a few minutes, her nervousness growing with each second that passed until - at last - he opened the door and she watched him switch off the light before he exited the ensuite.
Her breath hitched in her throat when he smiled at her before she allowed her gaze to fall to his chest. She had seen him bare chested before, of course, - mostly because she was incapable of stopping herself from removing his shirt whenever they kissed on the sofa in his study - but the sight still never failed to take her breath away. His chest was so toned and the thatch of hair that covered his upper chest made him all the more attractive in her eyes. He was so handsome.
And all hers.
'See something you like, Fraulein?' His voice brought her back to the present as he smirked at her and wiped the last few droplets of water off of the back of his neck with the towel in his hand.
'I might do.' She returned his smirk when he started to approach her once she had risen from the bed and he had hung his towel over the chair by the window, her eyes falling shut as he grazed his nose against her own and rested his hands on her waist to pull her against him. She hummed in delight against his lips when he captured her own in a delicious kiss and her hands moved to settle on his biceps, his skin still warm under her palms from the shower that he had just taken.
He brought their kiss to an end after just a few seconds, the smack of their lips filling the silence of the bedroom when they parted. The two of them pressed their foreheads against each other's, their eyes remaining shut until he peeled back from her and opened his eyes so that he could look at her. 'You look so beautiful.' He whispered to her when her eyes opened and she looked at him and he ran his hand over her hair, his other hand slipping from her waist to her back to hold her.
'I do?' She replied.
'Would I lie to you?' He raised his brow as he rested his hand on the back of her neck.
'No,' She shook her head whilst he brushed his thumb against her skin, 'I don't believe you would.'
He smiled at her before leaning in to press his lips against her forehead, her eyes falling closed as she sighed in satisfaction. When he pulled back from her again his hand moved from the back of her neck to her cheek and smoothed the backs of his fingers across her skin. 'I don't want you to be nervous about tonight because we aren't going to do anything you don't want to do, my love.'
'I'm not nervous, I just…' She stammered as she ran her hands along the outside of his arms.
'You just…?' He pressed gently.
'I just don't want to get it wrong.' She told him.
Her eyes told him that she was anxious and so he stepped past her so that he could sit down on the edge of the bed. 'Come here.' He said when she looked at him and he proffered his hand to her, Maria sliding her own hand into it before she stepped closer to him and lowered herself onto his knee. 'There is no right or wrong when it comes to lovemaking, darling.' He explained to her.
'There isn't?' She asked.
He shook his head. 'You just do whatever feels right.'
'You're so experienced with the act though.' She reminded him. 'I'm not.'
'Which puts me in a better position to help you.' He replied as he reached up to brush a strand of her hair back behind her ear. 'I know that you're worried that you're going to disappoint me, but you won't. You could never be a disappointment to me.' He looked into her eyes and smiled softly.
'I love you so much.' She teased the hairs at the nape of his neck with her fingertips.
He massaged her waist with the hand that was resting on it. 'And I love you.'
The two of them looked at one another in silence for a time before she leaned in and brushed his lips with her own, his hold of her tightening as her hands came to rest on the sides of his neck and she stroked the underside of his jaw with her thumbs. When her tongue ran along his bottom lip he parted his lips under hers and let her deepen their kiss, her quiet sigh warming his heart.
Her tongue danced with his own as she shifted a little closer to him on his knee and slipped both of her arms around his neck again, his hands leaving her waist and travelling upwards so that he could cup her face in his hands whilst they kissed. 'Does this feel right to you, Maria?' He asked.
'Mmph…' She nodded.
Their passionate kiss continued for several long minutes before Maria started to slow them down a little, her hands finding his shoulders as she left open-mouthed kisses on his lips until she pulled back when the urge to breathe became too strong. 'Can...can we lie down?' She almost whispered.
'Of course we can.' He kissed the tip of her nose. 'On top of the covers or under them?'
'I think I'd like to lie on top of the covers for now.' She admitted.
'Then that's what we'll do.' He said.
Once she had gotten off of his knee he shifted backwards on the bed until he was able to recline back against the headboard, his love for his wife deepening as he watched her slip onto the bed herself. When he opened his arms to her she shifted closer to him and snuggled into his side, her head coming to lie on his chest before he buried a kiss into her hair and held her tight to him.
'Georg?' She spoke up as she rubbed her cheek against the thatch of hair on his chest once they had laid in silence for a while, her husband humming his response as he rested his hand on her hip through her silky red negligee. 'When we do make love...how much will it hurt?' She inquired.
He sighed at her question and felt his heart ache at the thought of bringing her the slightest bit of pain. 'It'll sting, darling, but it shouldn't be too bad. It might sting when we make love after tonight too, but - over time - it'll lessen until there's no pain at all.' She shifted in his embrace until her head came to settle on his shoulder. 'We don't have to make love tonight if you don't feel ready to. I'm quite content to just lie here with you and kiss you until dawn breaks.' He chuckled.
She giggled along with him before tilting her head back and giving him one, two, three little kisses on the lips. 'I want us to make love.' She took his spare hand in hers before slipping her fingers through the gaps in his own, lifting his hand to her lips and kissing over his wedding ring. 'I want to be your wife in every sense of the word.' She smiled at him when he gave her hip a squeeze.
'My wife…' He breathed, 'I quite like the sound of that.'
'Me too.' She tangled one of her legs with his and ran her foot along his calve through his pyjama bottoms. 'Now, Captain,' She smirked as she released his hand and rested hers on his shoulder, a smirk forming on Georg's own lips when she laid down next to him and brought him to hover over her, 'I'd quite like to consummate our marriage before the end of our wedding night.' She smiled.
Georg leaned down to kiss her on the lips. 'Would you now?'
'Mmm…' She nodded.
'Well,' He rested his hand on her waist, 'I suppose we had better get started then.'
He then pressed his lips back to hers and neither of them spoke again for quite some time.
It was shortly after midnight when Georg was lying with Maria quiet in his arms in the aftermath of their lovemaking, his arms wrapped around her middle in a secure embrace as her head rested on his shoulder and her arm was draped over his stomach beneath the quilt. Her eyes were closed and her breathing was beginning to even out, a sign that she was falling asleep on him, and he was certain that she was the most perfect woman on the face of the earth. Both inside and out.
As the two of them had expected, there had been some pain during their lovemaking. He knew it hadn't been too intense, but it had been clear to him that she had been uncomfortable and he had hated it. Once he had laid down beside her afterwards he had apologised for hurting her, but she had simply caressed his chest and pecked him on the cheek and reassured him that it was okay. She was so incredible and he knew that he would never love another person more than her.
When she snuggled further into him he stroked her hip with his thumb and revelled in the feeling of her warm skin pressed against his, his lips pressing a kiss onto her temple as she tangled her leg with his beneath the covers and ran her foot along his calve. She had told him to wake her if she started to nod off, but he didn't have the heart to. They would have to get up again in just over three hours to go to the train station and he wanted her to be as well-rested as possible.
He turned over slightly after drawing back from her temple and turned off the lamp that was sat on his nightstand, a deep sigh leaving him as he settled down beneath the covers with her and rested his chin atop her head. He then closed his eyes and pulled the covers further over his wife before snugging her a little closer and waiting for slumber to come and draw him into slumber.
He didn't know what the next three months in Paris with Maria were going to be like, but there was one thing that he knew without a shred of a doubt. They were going to be far from dull.
