The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing
On a Saturday Night Neelix hosted a party in the Mess Hall. Almost everyone came. After a buffet dinner people began to grab partners and dance to the slow music.
Harry- Umm. Seven would you like to dance? I- I understand if you don't want to.
Seven- Yes Harry (She takes his arm, leading him to the dance floor)
Tom- B'Elanna? May I have the honor?
B'Elanna- Of course, Flyboy!
Chakotay- Kathryn, look at Seven and Harry. I surprised she agreed to dance with him.
Kathryn- (Smiling) I'm not.
Chakotay- (Extending his arm) May I?
Kathryn- I don't see why not!
Chakotay led her to the middle of the dance floor. When he wrapped his arms around her she pulled away slightly. He pulled her in closer, soon her arms were around him. It was only when she put her head on his chest that people began to notice and stop dancing. Chakotay knew she would notice any second they were the only couple dancing. Sure enough she did, she lifted her head abruptly and looked at him. He only smiled and pulled her closer, close enough to whisper.
Chakotay- Kathryn, Don't worry.
Kathryn- I feel strange.
Chakotay- Let's give them a show.
Kathryn- A show?
Chakotay- Play Along.
Before she could respond he looked her straight in the eyes and winked. He took her body into his arms and dipped her, the crew gasped. She was starring at him with a vengeance, that look made him shiver.
Kathryn- Chakotay!
Chakotay- I said play along.
Kathryn- But I thought.
Chakotay- You thought wrong.
He looked around once at the crew, looked back at her and kissed her. As everyone applauded he stood her up. She had no expression on her face; she was absolutely stunned. He leaned in and kissed her again, but this time it was different, she was kissing him back. He moved his hands from around her waist and slid them up her back; she moved her hands up his chest and around his neck. All of a sudden she realized the crew was watching, she pulled back and starred at him. Without thinking twice he swept her off her feet and carried her out of the Mess Hall leaving the crew stunned. He put her down in the corridor around the corner from the exit.
Kathryn- Chakotay I don't know what came over me!
Chakotay- I do.
Kathryn- What do we do now?
Chakotay- What do you mean?
Kathryn- We just made a spectacle in the Mess Hall!
Chakotay- What do you want to know whether I love or not. What do you think I did that for the attention! Well, I love you and even though you won't admit it you wouldn't have stopped if you hadn't realized the crew was watching.
Kathryn- That's Presumptuous!
Chakotay- Is it Kathryn!
He placed his hands on her face and kissed her, a few seconds later she pulled back.
Kathryn- Chakotay I.
She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him again. He picked her up and carried her to her quarters and into the bedroom.
