One night, Kendall and Jo went to the movies. Nothing was said, only silence.

After the movies, Kendall drove Jo home.

Jo sense something wrong because of the painful silence they shared between them that night.

Suddenly, Kendall pulled over.

"Kendall, why did you pull over?" Jo asked.

"I want to talk to you about something." He said.

"Well?" Jo waited for him to answer.

"I don't know how to say it but," He started. "I don't have any feelings for you."

"I started to fall for Lucy Stone. You know, the girl from our science class." Kendall looked at Jo and sigh. "I think it's time to for us to move on."

Jo turned away from Kendall and a silent tear slid down her cheek.

At that moment, a drunk driver was speeding down the very same street and crashed into them.

That night, Kendall woke up in a hospital room. He looked around, trying to remember what happened. At that moment, the doctor came in.

"Feeling alright?" The doctor asked him.

"Yeah, but my head hurts." He said, placing a hand on his forehead.

"Don't worry," the doctor assure him. "Your injuries wasn't that serious, only some cuts and bruises. You're very lucky to survive a crash like that."

"Crash?!" Kendall was even more confuse and his head hurts even more.

"Don't you remember?" The doctor asked.

"I don't think I remember." Kendall said.

"You and your girlfriend was inside a car and you both was hit by a drunken driver."

"My girlfriend," Kendall whisper.

"Wait! Jo!" He shouted and jump off the bed.

"Wait, Mr. Knight!" The doctor called out.

"Jo, please just please, make it!" Kendall kept on saying the same sentence over and over.

He reached in front of the reception counter and asked where is Jo's room.

"She's in room 990. Just go straight, third room from the left."

"Thanks!" He quickly replied and sped off.

As soon as he reached her room a doctor came out.

"Kendall Knight?" He asked.

Kendall swallow hard and answer, "Yes."

The doctor reached into his pocket and took out a folded piece of paper.

He handed it to Kendall and said, "Sorry. We found this is her pocket." And left without saying anything else.

Kendall found a chair and sat down.

He unfolded the paper and read it.

"Without your love, I would die."

He stayed up all night in the hospital, crying, and holding that piece of paper in his hand only realizing that he had lost his first and only true love, regretting telling her that they had to move on.
