Reflection
by tami
And the stars keeping company wavered uncertainly,
White fire freckles dotting the blank velvet face
Humming their silent lullaby to their companion
The single luminous eye reflecting the glow gone away
Golden burning brilliance hidden by time and circumstance
Dim reflection displayed elegantly by a smaller sibling
A circle of mirror forever there to share the same face and fate.
Different in virtues, ideals, stature,
Yet with mutual admiration extending past such trivial obstacles.
Let him find joy in the borrowed glory
The shine the moon takes from the sun
The compassion of both refuses to let a single child weep,
Plunged into the darkness whose thickness
Were never seen by the likes of this world before.
Never shall a tear grace the side of cheek
The product of being deprived the light.
The sun lit the day so that we may live strong,
But now it has left to where it may rest.
The moon stands vigilant with its tiny friends as but a humble reminder
Don't forget the sun.
-For Dixxy and how she honors the memory of her friend.
This is for Dixxy. I wrote it after I read the bad news about her friend, who was a gifted and insightful writer. It wasn't my place to write anything about him because it's the duty and right of those who were close to him, like Dixxy, to honor his memory. But it's okay for me to write something for her in this difficult time, so this poem is about both her loyalty and something involving Chrono Cross.
The poem can be about both Glenn following in the footsteps of his brother after he died and how Dixxy has the heart and strength to continue the story where her friend left off. Dixxy and Glenn are the moon, Soulblighter- 2 and Dario are the sun, and the stars are probably Riddel and Karsh in the Chrono Cross world as they keep company to the moon and the people there for Dixxy in ours.
