"Hey there, Ernie." Bert said.
"Hey, Bert." Ernie said back.
"Whatcha' doin?" Bert asked.
"Nothing, Bert." Ernie replied.
"What? That's not true. I see you've been down at the zoo all day, and something must have happened there at the zoo." Bert said.
"Nothing happened there." Ernie said, never caring about what happened at the zoo. But he knew what happened. He had this scrape on his finger.
"I got this teeny tiny scrape on my finger here. You see that?" Ernie said, while showing Bert that scrape.
"Oh, so something did happen. Where did you get it? Please tell me how." Bert asked.
"I must have gotten it when I fell down and bumped my head and somebody asked if I fell down and bumped my head." Ernie said.
"How'd you do that?" Bert asked.
"Well, that must have happened when I was running away from the dog." Ernie said, while imagining the dog chasing Ernie around.
"The dog? Why was the dog chasing you around?" Bert asked him.
"Well, the dog wasn't chasing me around, because he was just running away from the tiger that escaped the cage and growled at him." Ernie told Bert.
"Wait? The tiger? What was the tiger doing loose there?" Bert asked again.
"The monkey had to open his cage by accident and put the rabbit in there." Ernie said, imagining the monkey accidentally opening the cage, along with the rabbit getting stuck in it.
"Hold it. Why are we trying to put the rabbit in the monkey's cage?" Bert asked.
"With all of the elephants running around in the circus. I did not want him to get stepped on." Ernie replied, imagining the elephants running around loose.
"What? The elephant? What were they doing loose?" Bert asked.
"Well, the hippopotamuses were loose also, why not think of that?" Ernie replied back, imagining the hippopotamuses running loose as well.
"The hippopotamuses? Alright, Ernie, what happened next? How did the hippopotamuses get loose?" Bert asked.
"That must have happened when the bus crashed." Ernie told Bert.
"THE BUS CRASHED?! How did that happen?" Bert asked while yelling.
"The bus driver couldn't because of the bright lights from the flying saucer." Ernie continued.
"The bright lights from the flying saucer?!" Bert stopped Ernie for a sec. "You were telling me that nothing has ever happened to you today!"
"I did tell you that, Bert. But what I saw was just a teeny tiny scrape on my finger. See again for exact." Ernie holds the scrape on his finger and shows it to Bert for the second time.
Bert faints while seeing it. Ernie looked at him down there, but did not seem to care, so he continued to sit down and relax.
