The tension in the room was thick. Emil sat between his his brother and his brother's boyfriend at the dinner table, glancing between them every so often. It had been like this for a month already. The Icelandic boy would come home from school to yelling and arguing between the two every day.
He knew that Lukas was under a lot of pressure by his boss, so he could understand his stress. But still, Mathias had been spending more time at bars than usual week before. Emil just shook his head and quickly finished his meal, he need to get out of the house. Standing up, Emil took his plate into the kitchen and quickly washed it.
"Where are you in a hurry to go?" Turning around, Emil faced his brother. " I'm meeting up with Lili and Xiang." He stated, setting the plate in the drying tray. "Don't you have homework to do?" Lukas asked, walking to the sink to wash his dish. "I'll do it later. Geez, I told you that before."
"You need to do it now. I'm sure your friends can wait." Lukas retorted. "There's only a few hours of sunlight left!" Emil stated. "Then you can hang out with your friends tomorrow. Do your homework." The teen, clenched his fist and stormed out. Lukas stood still for a moment before sighing.
He knew that Emil would just sneak out in a few minutes, he'd caught him once.
What was happening? His relationship with Mathias was falling apart and so was his and Emil's, why?
Back in the dinning room, the Dane just stared at his half eaten meal. Just what was happening? Sure, Lukas wasn't very affectionate but lately he'd just been so cold. Was it something he was doing? Sighting, Mathias stood up and headed into the kitchen. He saw his boyfriend just standing at the sink.
"You alright, Lukas?" He asked, not using his nickname for the Norwegian. "I'm fine." Lukas said, moving past the Dane. 'I can tell you're lying. ' Mathias thought, moving close to the sink to wash his dish. Once he was done, the Dane took a deep breath and headed to the living room.
Lukas was sitting on the couch, staring at the TV but not really paying attention. "Lukas. We need to talk." Mathias said, taking the remote and turning the TV off. The Dane sat on the other side of the couch, Lukas avoiding his gaze.
"What's going on with us. All we ever do is fight, we don't even talk anymore!" Mathias pointed out. "Is there something I'm doing wrong?" He asked, his voice softening. " We've been together for a year, I want us to work out but...you still never tell me when things are wrong."
Lukas didn't say anything, he just stayed quiet and gripped his own arm. "You just yell and push me away, Lukas look at me!" Mathias said, lurching forward and grabbing his boyfriend by the shoulders. " I love you, Norgie. But I can't stand all of this." He said, looking deep into Lukas' eyes.
After sever seconds of silence, the Dane sighed and pulled his hands back. "I'll be out by morning." He said and got up.
"No."
Lukas grabbed on to Mathias' hand. "I'm sorry...It's just I've been having a lot of stress at work." He said, trembling a little. "Please, don't leave. " Mathias knelt down and wrapped his arms around Lukas. " You could've just said so, Norgie. I know you put on a brave face for Emil, but you can let it down when I'm here." Mathias said, gentle rubbing his lover's back.
The two pulled away, so they could face each other, before connecting their lips in a passionate kiss. " Hey, I know how we can relive some of that stress." Mathias said, pulling Lukas off the couch and to their bedroom.
Emil climbed back in though his window. Just as he was shutting it, he could hear muffled voices from the room next door. 'Well it seem everything will go back to normal tomorrow.' Grabbing his head phones, Emil plugged them into his iPod before proceeding to start his homework.
