1 A Moment in Reflection

A (very) short ficlet, Harry POV.

Harry Potter lay on his bed thinking about the past year. Not that he liked thinking about it, but he couldn't help himself from thinking about Cedric. He killed Cedric. Oh, he hadn't taken his wand and cursed him himself, but it amounted to the same thing. It was his fault. Only, as he went over the memories of that fateful day in the graveyard, he couldn't help being angry. Why? Why can't I live a normal life? I never wanted to be famous and hunted by Voldemort. Again and again, these thoughts went through his head. Flashes from the graveyard, facing the dragon, making up with Ron. On and on these scenes went through his head. Memories from the past year to the day he met Hagrid, his half-giant friend. His first friend ever.

And he smiled, no longer angry. He may not understand why all these things happened to him, but he wouldn't change his life for anything in the world. The good moments have made it worth it. I guess I just have to take everything as it comes. Besides, I'm not alone in this fight, though at times it has seemed that way. My friends are in this fight too. We will fight with everything we have. With that conviction, Harry sat up and began a new day.
