Disclaimer: I do not own the characters from the television show Angel.
Time-line: Set after Pulmonary in the Penultimate verse.
A/N: Have fun! Written as the 20-minutes with Cordelia challenge. And GAH! ff.net seems to have eaten some quotation marks here as well. Honestly, my punctuation may be bad, but not like this.
ArteryCordelia stormed into the Hyperion. "Men sucks!" she proclaimed and flung herself down on the couch in the lobby.
"Was it a vampire?" Wesley appeared from behind the counter.
"Duh," Cordelia dragged out a mirror and began to check her make-up. "Like I don't know how I'm supposed to check for a pulse before I agree to go out with anybody. Besides vampires aren't the only men that sucks.
"Bad date?" Angel came down the stairs.
"I would presume so," Wesley plunked down a large book on the counter. "I found the book.
"Just one question?" Cordelia clipped off her shoes and pulled her feet onto the couch. "Are there any possibility of me ever going out on a successful date with anyone?
Angel held his mouth.
Wesley hadn't learned when to shut up and answered her. "Of course there's always a possibility.
"Well, why can't I find him then?
Wesley looked apologetic at her before he turned his attention towards the book, leaving Cordelia to mull out her lack of love life.
"So, you see, Angel. If we just decapitate them, from left to right, instead of from right to left, their heads won't grow back.
"I'm not sure, isn't there another way?
Cordelia's eyes brightened.
"Wesley?
"Yes, Cordelia?
"Do you remember your cousin's wedding?
"Which one?
"The English Lord?
"Ah, Croy. Yes, why?"I met a guy there.
"And?
"He sounds like the kind of guy I'd want to meet again.
"How does that concern me?
"I think you're going to have to call your cousin, and find out who this guy is," Angel butted in.
"Just because you're slightly overprotective towards her doesn't mean I'll call my cousin to get the name of a guy she flirted with at a wedding, so you can do him bodily harm, Angel.
"No," Angel said patiently. "I'm not going to hurt him, not yet, but it seems to me that Cordelia might want to meet him again.
"Yes!" Cordelia's face lighted up. "Thankfully only one of you is that dense. Sadly it's the one of you with a love life, but as long as Virginia doesn't mind
"You want me to call Croy and ask him where you can find a guy?
"Yes! And what's with the calling him Croy? I thought his name was John?
"Cordelia, do you want me to call him at all?
"Just call.
"You don't know anything about this fellow, except that you liked him?
"His name was Josh," Cordelia wrinkled her brow. "Joshua Lyman. If he doesn't remember me, tell him I was the one who drugged him.
"Cordelia!
"And left him a note to call me at the hotel, which he didn't do.
"This isn't just a challenge to you, to catch the interest of a man who wasn't interested enough to contact you?" Angel asked.
"Oh, he was interested. Believe me," Cordelia said. "But I'm thinking maybe I gave him too much pain-killers.
"You don't need pain-killers anymore, not after you became part demon." Angel said.
"Duh, this was before that. I lived on them.
Wesley was still trying to wrap his mind around a difficult concept.
"You drugged a man, and you want me to call my cousin to get him to set up a date?
"Yes, please Wesley?
