Deja Vu
She resembled her mother, with just a few minor differences. Her mother didn't have a scar over her eye. The woman in front of her had a look of disorientation, and a slight mist hovered about her, as though she had just emerged from a freezer or cold room of some sort.
The woman turned to look at her. "Weiss Schnee?"
The little girl nodded, wondering what this woman was doing in her garden. Like so many of her family, she had white hair and pale blue eyes, and the Schnee crest was buckled on the front of her cape . Maybe she was one of those relatives who didn't live in Atlas?
"I don't remember being so small. Nevermind, I don't have a lot of time, so listen up."
Weiss nodded. She didn't seem like a bad woman.
"When you meet Ruby, try not to yell at her so much. And don't worry, by the time you like her, she'll like you just as much. So just tell her. Don't make her coffee. She'll be too embarrassed to tell you for years, but she doesn't like it. Most importantly, never, ever take her with you to SDC factories in areas where the White Fang are active."
Weiss looked at the woman, puzzled. Who's Ruby?
The woman continued. "I know I don't make much sense now, but just try to remember. Trust Blake. It's odd, but she'll be one of the best friends you'll ever have. Oh, and when Yang finds out about you and Ruby, just head straight for the lake. Don't bother with anything else. You don't want to be sleeping on JNPR's floor while they repair your room. Jaune always 'forgets' you're there when he wakes up."
The woman looked up at the manor, and a sad look came over her face.
"Don't resent Winter, things are also hard for her. She may not always be nice to you, but she loves you too. Just be careful when you spar. If she corners you, let her win. It's not worth the grief that scar will give you both. She-"
The woman suddenly dissolved into mist, along with a tinkling so faint Weiss thought she might have imagined it.
"Miss Schnee! It's time for your combat lesson with your sister!" Called a servant from the house.
"I'm coming!" Weiss hurried to the doorway, trying to work out what had just happened. She met Winter in the hallway and scowled at her knowing smirk. Today. She'd beat her today, if it was the last thing she did. Weiss squared her shoulders and lifted her chin as she marched into the training room, her rapier gripped tightly in her hand.
A/N: I do not own RWBY or its characters. Concept for future Weiss and events with Ruby loosely based on Funblade's Future AU.
This started as a bit of an exercise to continue the writing momentum I've developed recently. I set aside an hour every day to work on my writing, but have been having a bit of writer's block with outlines for a larger story. So instead of banging my head against the wall (keyboard), decided to spend the hour just writing something. Anything, really.
Thinking about doing one for the rest of the girls. As I was writing this, I got an inkling of what Ruby's future self might want to say to her.
Reviews are always appreciated. =)
