Random as hell one-shot that wouldn't leave me alone.

Feel free to use my idea of Amaterasu in a story, just tell me that you are.

[Random Uchiha Base]

Itachi's eyes narrowed as Sasuke continued talking to a chair, still firmly caught in the grip of the Genjutsu placed on him. He sighed. And waited.

And waited.

And waited some more.

For a bit of variety, Itachi decided to wait just a little bit more.

After five minutes, Itachi had enough of Sasuke only managing to break through two levels of Genjutsu, flagrantly waste chakra and give Itachi a mild headache from his incessant chatter.

The paragon of Uchiha power closed a single eye. His left eye swung shut with not so much a whisper but with the finality of a guillotine dropping.

His right eye opened wide, the tomoe in his eyes swirling as his fully evolved Sharingan rose a single step in power, the shuriken in his eye spinning ever faster as Itachi focused an immense amount of chakra into his eye.

Then, as Sasuke still took no notice of the chakra build up which should have given Itachi away instantly, Amaterasu bloomed, forming a whirling beam of hyper condensed fire, zooming forward and cleanly cutting Sasuke in half.

[Two Days Later]

Itachi sighed as he blindly navigated the hallways of the abandoned base, eyes covered as Zetsu had helped him replace his eyes with Sasuke's eyes, which would form into the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, and thereby extend Itachi's life, cure his impending blindness, and give him enough time to utterly wreck Madara's plans before his lung disease killed him.

[Two Weeks Later]

Itachi woke, removing the gauze around his eyes smoothly as he sat up.

He then stood, and opened his eyes for the first time in two weeks, staring at his surroundings in happy fascination.

Then Itachi grew sad, and flames once more poured from his right eye, obliterating everything in sight.

Itachi marveled at his new found ability to control the flames, willing them into more and more complicated shapes as he summoned up his Susano'o in full form, silently commanding the flames to cloak the avatar of power in a wreath of fire.

[Three Days Later]

Itachi chuckled.

He then stopped as all the shinobi around him gave him utterly flabbergasted and terrified looks.

Itachi's right eye spun, fully justifying the looks of terror as the various S-rank shinobi fled in fright as the unquenchable black flames of Amaterasu ignited those too slow to move.

His eye spun once more, and a beam of eternal blackness burst from his eye, cutting and consuming all it touched.

Within seconds, all of Akatsuki was dead, save for the one who went by Tobi and the true form of Leader. Even Konan had been consumed by the unstoppable fire.

Itachi's Susano'o protected frame moved closer to his last two opponents, gigantic ethereal arms smashing walls aside, similarly protecting Itachi when whole buildings fell on him.

Nagato appeared troubled as he absorbed wave after wave of Amaterasu.

Tobi, or whoever he was, he certainly wasn't Madara, merely waited as Itachi's Susano'o's arms merely phased through him each time they ventured close.

Itachi smiled, and instantly, two Swords of Totsuka formed in two separate hands, and both seemed to form within his foes, sucking them into the world of Eternal Dreams.

And Itachi's protection and saving of the Shinobi World went unremarked upon until the various nations realized that there was no Akatsuki several months later.

Itachi passed away peacefully and painlessly in his sleep, his lung disease claiming him at last, content with the knowledge that he had saved the world.

[End]

There. That's it.
