Take my hand, I'll teach you to dance
I'll spin you around won't let you fall down
Would you let me lead? You can step on my feet
Give it a try, it'll be alright
"No way in hell," Karkat growled, crossing his arms over his chest.
John pouted. "Please, Karkat? Just this once?"
The troll scowled. "I don't know why you want to do this stupid human ritual, or whatever it is."
John raised an eyebrow. "But… I saw Terezi and Dave dancing. She seems to know—" John smiled. "Karkat, do you not know how to dance?"
Karkat blushed, looking down. "Shut up," he mumbled.
John chuckled, and held out his hand. "How about I teach you?"
Karkat shook his head slowly. He would just make a fool of himself.
The human's face fell. "Please? For me?"
The troll looked up to see John's pleading face. He sighed in defeat, and took the offered hand that John held out.
'Cause lovers dance when they're feeling in love
Spotlight's shining it's all about us it's all about us
John grinned, and pulled Karkat close to him, holding the troll's waist. He began to slowly move his feet.
Karkat gulped, and looked down at John's feet, trying to step on them.
John shook his head, and grabbed Karkat's chin, making him look into John's blue orbs. "Just look at me," he whispered. "And don't let me go."
Karkat gulped, and wrapped his arms around John's neck, not taking his eyes of the human's.
"Just follow me," John said, smiling.
Karkat nodded, and John began to shuffle, dancing slowly. The troll followed his small movements, and looked down, only to have his chin moved up, so he was looking up at the human again. "Just look at me," John said again.
Karkat sighed and John began to move again. Karkat's gaze never left John's, and they were lost in each other's eyes. They swayed to no music, and just held each other, their bodies pressing close to each other.
"Karkat," John whispered, still moving.
Karkat gulped. "Y-Yes?"
John leaned down, only stopping for a second, to press his lips to the troll's.
Sparks, tingles, shudders.
It was all there. The whole cliché moment was taking place for the human and troll, as they held each other, dancing to no music, but to the rapid beating of their hearts.
Do you hear that love? They're playing our song
Do you think we're ready? Oh I'm really feeling it
Do you hear that love? Do you hear that love?
