A/N: This is my new story! Yay! I actually think I'm going to be enjoying this than anything else I have yet to publish. I hope you enjoy this as much as I plan to.

Edit: I was writing a future chapter, and something said in this chapter didn't correspond to what I was writing, so I changed it. It wasn't a major change and doesn't have a great effect on the story itself but, it needed to be changed.

Rated T For Violence and Adult Situations. I do not own The Legend of Zelda.

"I'm proud to say that all of you have made it here today. It's really an honor to be standing here in front of our next great graduating class. Even though we have had our ups and downs, lefts and rights, I am still glad to say that I was here to witness it all and help you all at achieving your goals. From the bottom of my heart, and the heart of the staff and community, I congratulate you, Class of 2006." As the principal, Mr. Rauru, finished up his speech the parents and family members had erupted in cheer and the Class of 2006 and thrown their hats into the air.

She didn't though. She chose to keep the hat. She didn't think that the gown or the sash would go without the hat tying it together. But, she did cheer and laugh with the rest of the class she had graduated with. Most of them she wouldn't see again for another 10 years or so. It was weird not going to be able to see all these faces again. Well, whether she liked it or not she was glad that she was done with school, moving out, and going to college.

"Hey, Zelda!" Her friend, Malon, had called from somewhere behind her. Zelda had turned around to see the red head walking towards her. Malon, her best friend, had a nice color of dark red hair, light blue eyes, and she usually had a smile plastered on her face. Zelda, in turn, was a blonde, had violet eyes, and she was about an inch or so taller than her friend.

"Hey, Malon, what's up?" Zelda asked.

"Congrats on graduating, Zelda!"

"You too!" Zelda said as the two hugged each other.

"Might I squeeze in?" Sheik, Zelda's cousin, said. Sheik was a muscular male, with bright blonde hair, and red eyes. He was taller than the girls by at least 3 inches.

"Sure thing." Malon said as she hugged the boy.

"What about you cuz?" Sheik said as he opened his arms to Zelda.

"Fine, fine." She said as she hugged her cousin. Both Sheik and Malon had thrown their hats with the crowd. After letting go of Zelda, Sheik had put his arm around Malon's waist. The pair had been going out for about six months now, and they couldn't be happier together.

"Ah, there she is!" Someone had said. Zelda turned around to see Talon, Malon's father.

"Dad!" Malon said as she gave a hug to her father.

"Congratulations, honey!" Talon said as he released his daughter.

"Thanks, Dad." Talon then turned to the cousins watching the whole ordeal.

"And Zelda, Congratulations as well." He said as he hugged her too.

"Thank you, Mr. Lon."

"Sheik, you too. Congrats." The two shook hands.

"Thank you sir."

"Mr. Lon or Talon is fine my boy."

"Okay, thank you Mr. Lon!" Talon had laughed and soon were the other three.

"Sheik! Zelda!" Sheik's parents had called. Mr. and Mrs. Antler had come walking up to the four.

"Congratulations, you two! And you as well Malon." Mrs. Antler said.

"Thanks Mom."

"Thank you, Aunt Georgia."

"Thank you, Mrs. Antler."

"Sweety, you're dating Sheik now, please call me Georgia." Sheik laughed and so did Malon.

"Okay, Georgia."

"Zelda, where are your parents?" Mr. Antler asked.

"I don't know, Uncle Ken." Zelda said as she looked around at all the parents, students, grandparents, and siblings to try and spot her own parents.

"We're right here, Kenny." Zelda's father had said as he and his wife walked up.

"Congrats, dear." Zelda's mother, Jennifer, said as she hugged her daughter.

"Ha! Jim! I was wondering where you had gone off to!" Talon had said to Zelda's father, Jim.

"We went around trying to find Zelda. I guess we were a little to late." Jim had joked.

"Zelda, why don't we go and find everyone else." Malon said as she tugged on the sleeve of Zelda's gown.

"Mom, Dad, can I?" Zelda asked her parents.

"Sure thing, sweetheart, we'll be here."

Zelda, Sheik, and Malon had left and started making their rounds to all their friends. They had meet Saria, a short, green haired, green eyed seventeen year old and said congrats to her. Zelda had met her back in 7th grade. She was still the same height. Also, they had meet their other friend Ruto, who was a loud, black haired, blue eyed girl who had met them back in 7th grade as well, Mikau a quiet, black haired, green eyed musician whom Sheik had met back in 9th grade, when he moved here, and then there was Nabooru, a tall, tan, light red orangy hair, and dark brown eyes. Zelda, Malon, and Nabooru had meet back in kindergarten and had been best friends ever since.

The three, after making their rounds to all their friends, had made it back to their parents who they were having mindless banter with at the moment.

"Sheik! Malon! Zelda!" A deep booming voice had called. They turned around to see Darunia, a tall and very muscular boy with a shaved head and dark brown eyes.

"Hey! Darunia!" Sheik said as he went over to hug his friend. Sheik was muscular as well as Darunia but, Sheik was a lot skinnier so, he was toned while Darunia was just ripped.

"Zelda, Malon, don't leave me hanging." He said as the two girls went up and gave him hugs.

"Hello, Darunia, Congratulations on graduating." Georgia said.

"Thanks, Georgia!" He said as he hugged her as well. Darunia then said hello to the rest of the parents.

As the night wore on, and more people came to say congrats to Zelda, Malon, Sheik, and Darunia, eventually the night had worn on and they all piled in Sheik's car and went to his house to spend the remainder of the night. While everyone else in their class were going to these huge graduation parties, they were just going to hang in his basement and listen to music.

"Nabooru, Saria, Ruto, and Mikau should be coming in a little later. Their parents wanted to take them out somewhere first." Darunia had explained to the trio.

"Sounds cool, Shotgun!" Malon had called as she ran to the passenger side of Sheik's black Jeep Cherokee.

Sheik's House

Basement

10:23 PM

The ride to Sheik's house was full of mindless conversation. Once, they had gotten to the house and removed themselves of the graduation clothing that they were wearing, they found themselves in Sheik's basement.

Malon was in one of Sheik's Metallica t-shirts and a pair of pajama short shorts, Darunia was wearing a Nirvana t-shirt and some running shorts, Sheik was wearing an Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and a pair of running shorts, Nabooru was in a pink tank top and black pajama short shorts, Saria was in a green t-shirt and black boy running shorts, Mikau was wearing a white 'Got Milk?' t-shirt and some green pajama shorts, Ruto was wearing a blue tank top and white pajama shorts, and Zelda was wearing a white tank top with black pajama pants.

Mikau and Sheik were talking about Kurt Cobain, Malon and Nabooru were talking about the new shoes that they had seen in the mall, Darunia, Saria, and Ruto were talking about some weird food they had all tried at some Mexican restaurant, while Zelda was sitting there confused by everything. Then, some feet came stomping down the stairs and soon showed Link, still dressed in his graduation uniform.

"Link!" Everybody, except Zelda, had said when he walked in.

"Sorry I'm late guys, my grandma wouldn't let me leave until I had eaten and did the dishes and practically cleaned the house from top to bottom." Link said as he smiled at everyone.

"Link, you're the only one still dressed in that garb." Sheik said.

"Damn, I knew there was something I had forgotten." Link said. "Do you got anything I could borrow?"

"Yeah in the bedroom top drawer." Sheik said as he pointed over to his conjoined room in the basement.

"Thanks." Link said as he walked into Sheik's room to change.

Zelda smiled down to herself while everyone went back to their own conversations. Zelda hadn't seen Link all day. Well, except for when he was called to get his diploma, but other than that she couldn't find him. Link and Zelda had been best friends long before she had met anyone. They were both five years old when they had met. Link's father had been a coworker with Zelda's father and eventually their parents had become friends, since Link didn't have any siblings, he would usually hang around with Zelda and her siblings.

"Hello, Ms. Harkinian, mind if I sit with you?" Link said has he gestured to the empty bean bag next to her own.

"Don't mind if you do Mr. Avalon." Zelda smiled back, playing along with his game. Link to a seat and looked over at Zelda.

"So, Zelda," Link started.

"Yes?"

"We're finally high school graduates."

"It's weird to finally think that now huh?" Zelda asked as she turned towards him.

"It is. What are you doing for college?"

"I'm going to CTU."

"Nice, at least you get the summer to do whatever before going over to Castle Town."

"Actually, I'm leaving at the end of next week." Link gave her a confused look so, she continued. "I'm not staying at the college, I got an apartment in the city, and I wanted to leave early to get acquainted and get a job before school starts. What about you Link?"

"Oh, I'm not going to college."

"Why not?"

"I didn't want to. I'm actually going over to Castle Town too. I'm gonna be a police officer."

"That's awesome! When are you going to Castle Town?"

"As soon as I find an apartment of my own."

"Oh, well I was looking for a roommate anyways so, we could be roommates." Zelda said. "That is, if you wanted too..." She quickly added.

"That would be awesome Zelda. Now, I can get started on my training early." Link said as his face lit up. Zelda laughed at that.

Sheik's House

Driveway

2:36 PM

The rest of the night was just fun hanging out with the nine of them either playing video games, watching someone play video games, listening to music, talking, or playing a board game. Eventually everyone was going home. Darunia and Mikau were going to be sleeping over Sheik's house, Nabooru had driven over so she was going to take Ruto, Saria, and Malon home, considering her car was only a four seat car, and Link was going to drive Zelda home.

"Are you sure you're okay with driving me home Link? It's in the completely opposite way to you're house and it's almost 2:30 in the morning?" Zelda asked as Link as he got into his little green SAAB and opened the door for Zelda since he didn't have a button on his keys that unlocked all the doors to the car.

"It's fine Zelda, really. My grandmother won't care if I was just driving you home." Link said as he motioned for her to get into the car.

"Fine. Fine." Zelda said as she got in and buckled herself up, while she was still wearing her Pj's and Link still wearing some of Sheik's. Link turned the car on and drove out of Sheik's driveway and turned to the left. Zelda turned on the radio and 'Welcome to the Jungle' by Guns N' Roses had come on.

"Surprised it isn't the Gorillaz." Zelda acknowledged.

"I don't only like the Gorillaz..." Link said.

"Fine, you like the Gorillaz and Guns N' Roses. Two bands Link. Two bands."

"I like other bands. I just listen to Gorillaz and Guns N' Roses more."

"What other bands then Link?"

"Well, I like The Cure, The Clash, Green Day, Nirvana, David Bowie, Def Leopard,-"

"Okay Link, I don't need your whole MP3 player." Zelda said as she laughed.

"You asked, don't blame me." Link joked.

"You're the boy, you're going to get blamed." Zelda said as she raised an eyebrow at him.

"Typical." Link muttered to himself as she rolled his eyes, taking another turn. "Hey, Zelda, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, Link, what's up?"

"Are you really sure that you want us to move in together? Like in Castle Town, in a week." Link asked.

"I'm positive, Link. I've already got an apartment and I'm going to need help paying the rent. Plus, it would be nice having someone I know with me there in that big city."

"Does little Zelda need protecting in that big bad city?" Link mocked. Zelda swatted him as he pulled up to her house.

"Shut up, Link." Zelda said. "And don't worry about anything. It's a two bedroom apartment so you'll have you're own bedroom and bathroom."

"And my own bathroom? Now I know why you need help with the rent."

"Well, not your own, you use the main bathroom. The master has its own bathroom."

"Works for me." Link said as he shrugged and gave a lopsided grin to Zelda. Link was about a head taller than Zelda, with her head only coming to right under his chin, he was skinny with very light muscles, light tanned skin, dirty blonde unruly hair that hung in his eyes, and cobalt eyes.

Zelda smiled back at him and opened the car door. She was about to get out but, turned around and kissed Link on the cheek.

"Thank you, for driving me home, and coming to Castle Town with me." She got out of the car and bent over to get her bag.

"No problem, Zel." Link said as he smiled again. Zelda smiled back and stoop up straight.

"Goodnight, Link."

"G'night Zelda." Link said, and right before she closed the door he said, "Lock the door!" She locked it and shut it, bending over to stick her tongue out at him, and walking up to her house. Link smiled to himself and backed out of the driveway.
