My job sucks. I've been working at Tiffany's for about 3 months now. My dumb mother wants me to pay off my own college loan. To avoid those crazy interests, I decided to pay it off early. When I wasn't busy with school, I worked at Tiffany's. The only reason I got the job is because my great, great aunt Delilah is the owner. On average we would get 10 people that walk through the door and only 1 buyer. I sat on the small chair facing the entrance and cracked open a textbook.

Ring! A bronze haired kid who looked pretty hot walked in. I pushed my textbook off the ring display making a big crash sound. The boy walked over to where I was. My heart accelerated. I kicked the book shut and slid it under the display. He smiled. "Which college do you go to?" he asked. Damn, see through display. "Um, Cabrillo Community College," I answered. "I'm going to Dartmouth in the Fall," He looked to young to be in here. Maybe he came to aimlessly flirt with any poor girl who happened to be in here. Not Likely. "Hello, My name is Julie, how may I assist you today?" I read aloud off a index card taped behind the counter. I lifted my eyes to his. He had the strangest eyes, dark gold. I would trade my boring dirt brown eyes for something as interesting as dark gold. That color would make me seem frisky.

"I need an engagement ring," he said, his eyes focusing on the display. Not fair. Oh well, at least he was legal. He looked about 17 or 18 I guess. "Over here, sir," I gestured over to the cheap rings with fake diamonds and artificial gold. He looked them over. "Nothing really suits her in this section. What about that one," he pointed to the diamond ring with at least 100 facets and was probably a million carats. That thing was shiny, expensive, and pretty damn heavy for a ring. It also had a 100% real gold band. "Those over there are the expensive rings, I think-" he cut me off. He walked toward the ring. "Can I see it?" he asked politely. Gentleman? Yep!

"Sure," I slid open the door and picked up the ring. He looked at it carefully. "I'll take it," he handed it to me. "The ring is…" I slid the price tag across the table. Boy, was it fat number. He nodded. "How would you like to pay for it, we have a monthly plan and you can pay in-" I said. "Credit," he said. He pulled out a shiny gold card. "Credit?" I said. "No, sorry, my mistake, Debit," Holy crap. My eyes popped out of my head. "Unless you prefer cash?" He pulled his wallet out of his back pocket and flipped it open. I saw the thick stack of fifties in his wallet. I swallowed. "No, no it's fine." I swiped his card and handed him his little pink bag. "Thank you," he smiled. My voice croaked. Outside a woman with brown hair and super pale skin appeared out of nowhere and kissed him. She looked really pretty but young. The boy got on his knee. Oh boy, right out of the store. She threw the little ring to the side and started yelling. Then she started kissing him again. Weird couple.
