Purpose of the Knife
A/N; Shorty I did a while ago while reading part two. I don't think I originally meant it to be part of the Dark materials, but I think it fits rather nicely.
The dagger is forged
A red glow burns through the dark
While it's scorched metal barks crimson flame
Bursts of golden light
A symbol of the pain, and yet a symbol of it's might
The dagger is used
The purpose of the dagger is obvious
It was made to kill, and kill it did
The man lay bleeding, and a soul is now tainted
It is enshrined
A man decorates the blade
It is covered in gold, displayed, awed
But it is still a dagger
No matter how you decorate it
It is a tool
A woman cuts rope
Links are severed
The blade cuts through foreign materials
Even disguised, it remains the same
A dagger is a dagger
It was made to kill
To destroy
To protect
To sever
No matter how it is used, it was made for those reasons, and nothing can change that...
