Hi guys, so you've finally cracked me. So many of you have reviewed The Light That Shines that I've finally decided to type up the prologue. This chapter will take place during the Destiny Islands part or some time before it since Shay won't have her dream yet.
Shaylee: Please enjoy and let Wolfie know what you think. And I apologize now with my kind of depressed attitude. Blame Wolfie.
Me: Shaylee!
Shaylee: (sighs) And you can blame my heart as well.
Me: Thank you! (huffs) Also, I do not own the song used. It is sung by Patty Griffin and she owns it. Thanks to ChaosDancer12 for suggesting this song. Also, Shaylee is voiced by Sabrina Carpenter from Girl Meets World so just imagine her when Shay talks. Also, Shay's theme is This Will Be the Day from RWBY while the series' theme is Time to Say Goodbye from RWBY. This chapter is also dedicated to Monty Oum, who passed away last month at the age of 33. He was the creator of RWBY and a huge inspiration for my writing so this is one of my many tributes to him.
Shaylee: Now enjoy the next chapter of my story! But I'll be disappearing after this update since Wolfie's got too many stories going on.
Me: (sheepish) She isn't wrong there. Now enjoy!
In a tower on a hidden world, a girl with dark brown hair and icy blue eyes stood looking out a star shaped window. Her hair fell down her back in waves while her icy eyes stared at the stars. She wore a long, sleeveless, blue rib-knit duster sweater with a white Kingdom Hearts heart on the back, a black tank top, a denim button up skirt, three ribbons, one orange, one green and one blue in that order, tied around her left arm, a silver bracelet around her right wrist with four names engraved into it, black bike shorts with zippers going down the front and a pair of silver buckled black boots. Around her neck was a Kingdom Hearts pendent. She looked to be about 16, but she felt so much older. In her hand was a dark purple Wayfinder with a silver wire around it. She looked down at the star, ignoring a strand of hair that fell in her eyes. Softly, she began to sing,
"It's hard to listen to a hard, hard heart
Beating close to mine
Pounding up against the stone and steel
Walls that I won't climb
Sometimes a hurt is so deep, deep, deep
You think that you're gonna drown
Sometimes all I can do is weep, weep
With all this rain falling down
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big, dark clouds
But I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
It's hard to know when to give up the fight
Some things you want will just never be right
It's never rained like it has tonight before
Now I don't wanna beg you baby
For something maybe you could never give
I'm not looking for the rest of your life
I just want another chance to live
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big, dark clouds
But I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big, dark clouds
But I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain
Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big, dark clouds
But I'm still alive underneath this shroud
Rain
Rain
Oh Rain"
She smiled a small, sad smile, one she had been smiling for 10 years now. Her eyes slowly returned to the sky as she pocketed her Wayfinder, the silver wire hanging out of the pocket as she used her light to seal the pocket. She turned as a man with a long gray beard and wearing a dark blue robe and a pointy hat with a crescent moon and stars on it came to stand beside her.
"It is time." He stated. The girl nodded as her gaze returned to the stars.
"Yes…soon I will have to leave." She said. She paused for a minute before she asked, "Father…do you think I'm ready?"
"If you weren't, I would not have made you a Master three years ago." The man said as he placed a hand on the girl's arm. The girl gave a small smile before she bowed in respect.
"Thank you, Father. I won't let you down." She said.
"I know you won't, Shaylee." The man smiled gently. The girl, Shaylee, straightened up and turned back to the window.
Sora, Riku, Kairi…your time is coming. I will see all of you soon. She thought.
It's been 10 years since I've had my first big adventure…10 years since I lost most of my family. I've been training for this day for a long time. My adopted father, Yen Sid, has always believed that I would be a great Guardian of Destiny. I just hope I do a good enough job that I can see my family and love again someday. I lost a lot of happiness in my life that day 10 years ago…I almost feel as if I've lost myself. I just hope…Sora, Riku and Kairi can help bring me back to life.
There's the chapter! And since Shaylee was kind of wearing a modified version of Tifa's ACC outfit, I decided in each game, she will be dressed as a different Final Fantasy heroine. If you guys can guess the right outfit for the right game, excluding KH2 since I already revealed Shay's outfit there in my story Right Here, then you will get a free spoiler of you choosing.
Shaylee: Review to make Wolfie smile, or update soon! Bye!
Me: Seriously, Shay?! Again?!
Shaylee: Sorry, kind of my job.
Me: (smiling sweetly) Just like it's mine to make you pay for that.
Shaylee: (cries out)
Me: (chases Shaylee out of office)
