A/N: I'm back with another story! Hope you're all looking forward to reading!
A/N 2: I don't know how old Jamie is in the show but I made him 30!
Jamie frowned as the tickling near his ear traveled down to his neck. He turned over in the warm bed, willing whatever it was to stop so he could fall back asleep. A soft laugh cut through the fog in his brain and his eyes slowly opened to face the bright sunlight entering his room and announcing a new day had begun. His frown deepened as he stared out of the large window in his eyesight and he slowly turned over. Eddie smiled over at him from where she sat and reached a hand forward to rub Jamie's back.
"Good morning, handsome. I let you sleep for as long as I could but no one should spend their entire birthday in bed so…" Eddie shrugged but the smile remained on her face. "It's time to wake up and have some fun!"
Jamie groaned and buried his face in his pillow. "Fun for me is getting to sleep in, Eddie."
"Boo," she replied, tugging on his arm. "Come on, lambchop! Get up! I have a super fun day planned for us! I only have you for the morning since your family is taking you tonight for dinner."
Jamie lifted his head up and smiled. His arm shot forward and he tugged Eddie down onto the bed with him and kept her trapped by wrapping the arm around her waist. "And you know you can come to the dinner. Besides, this is fun enough. Let's just do this all day."
Eddie laughed, arranging herself more comfortably on the bed besides Jamie. "Jamie. It's your first birthday with me as a girlfriend. I'm not gonna intrude on dinner tonight so I have to make the day wonderful. I will forever be judged on this birthday and any future girlfriend will have to go up against me."
Jamie laughed and pushed a piece of Eddie's blond hair behind her ear. "Future girlfriend? Already planning to dump me? And here I thought we were in a serious relationship?"
Eddie shrugged, an eyebrow raised. "We are but…" she shrugged once more. "You never know what could happen, Jamie. I don't think about it and I don't want it but something could break us apart."
Jamie stared at her momentarily before nodding. "It could. I don't think it will, though. I mean you already have the key to my house, you've been to see my childhood summer vacation retreat and you feel pretty damn comfortable in my bed. I already have you well trained. Don't feel like training another girl."
"Great," Eddie rolled her eyes but smiled. "It's a comfy bed, Reagan."
"So, why don't we stay in it for as long as possible, Janko?" replied Jamie with a smirk. He tugged Eddie closer as she giggled and burrowed into the warmth of his embrace. "That's a really good idea but only for a bit longer. I wasn't kidding when I said I had a super fun day planned for us."
Jamie kept his arms wrapped around Eddie's back and whispered in her ear, "Fine, I'll get up. Can I get a good morning kiss first?"
Eddie lifted her head from Jamie's chest and wrinkled her nose. "With morning breath, Reagan? I don't think so."
Jamie laughed. "It's my birthday! You wake me up on our one day off and I don't even get a kiss?"
Eddie sighed and pretended to think about it before cracking a smile. "Of course you get a kiss. You get anything you want today."
Jamie smiled but Eddie quickly held a hand up and added. "Anything within reason, Reagan." She smiled and let her hand drop back onto Jamie's chest, the man moving his hands up Eddie's back and around to cup her face and pull their lips together. Eddie moaned softly and parted her lips as Jamie's tongue swept inside gently, tasting her warm mouth. Jamie moved one hand to stroke the back of Eddie's neck as his lips moved over hers, their tongues sliding together softly. They finally parted slowly and Jamie placed a final kiss on each of Eddie's closed eyes.
"Are a couple more of those within reason?" Jamie asked softly, moving his face closer to hers. Eddie nodded and she pressed her lips back onto Jamie's. He slid his tongue inside her mouth once more, deepening the soft kiss. Eddie swallowed back a moan of pleasure before moving her lips from Jamie's face to kiss his neck lightly. She slid her fingers through his hair, then down his neck, resting on his chest. He pushed her over on the bed so he lay on top of her, sliding his thigh between her legs as he pushed his body against her. He wanted her, she could feel it, and the knowledge made her reckless, and she slid her hands down his chest to his back. Eddie bunched the material of his t-shirt in her hands, lifting it so she could feel his skin. She heard Jamie hiss out his pleasure and groan.
"Eddie," Jamie said pulling her hands back and holding her wrists, with controlled patience. "You have no idea how good it feels having your hands on me," he said on a sigh, moving down her jaw to her collar bone.
"I think I have a pretty good idea," Eddie moaned softly.
"But..." Jamie said reluctantly, kissing up to her ear and nipping it with his teeth.
Eddie groaned but slowly nodded. "Yeah…not yet." She smiled and winked at him as he pulled back. "Soon, lambchop."
Jamie laughed and rolled over, stretching his arms above his head. "I'm gonna go shower so we can get started on this day of fun you have planned. Can you make me some coffee?"
"Of course! Need you alert and ready to rock." Eddie jumped out of the bed and headed for the kitchen. She looked back on Jamie still in bed and wagged her finger at him. "Don't you fall asleep on me again!"
Jamie shook his head and rolled out of the bed, pulling his shirt over his head at the same time. Eddie bit her lip and turned away, quickly walking out of the bedroom before she could get too much of a glimpse of her boyfriend's bare back and chest. It was becoming way too hard to resist Jamie and there was no point in playing with fire. She took a deep breath and headed out of the room to prepare for the day.
"Seriously, Janko? This is where you bring me for my birthday?"
Eddie smiled happily and looped her arm around Jamie's. "Yes! Isn't it amazing?"
Jamie frowned and looked around the large amusement park. "It's Coney Island."
"Yeah and Coney Island is amazing!" Eddie's smile widened and she spun around so she faced Jamie. "We can get on all the rides and eat Nathan's hot dogs and eat funnel cake for dessert and hopefully make it home without barfing!"
Jamie looked down at Eddie, her enthusiasm slowly rubbing off on him. "I haven't been here for years. I think I was still in diapers the last time. I can remember holding onto my mom's hand."
"Then it's about time you came back. This place is so awesome. I still remember coming here with my parents when I was a kid. It was a big thing, you know. Getting to come into the city and going to ride the Cyclone," Eddie laughed. "I always had a blast. It's special to me and I remember the look on your face when you told me how often you came here with your family so I know it's special to you…" She stretched her arms wide and spun around. "So, where else could we possibly have celebrated our day off and your birthday?"
Jamie laughed and nodded his head, reaching for Eddie's hands and pulling her close. "You're right. This is a perfect place for me to come to terms with that fact that my youth is over."
Eddie rolled her eyes. "Oh yes. You're such an old man that I already placed an ad on Craigslist looking for a younger man…maybe a firefighter to carry me around when I'm wearing my heels instead of making fun of my height…"
"Very funny, Janko. I wouldn't joke too much, though. You'll be 30 too in a few years," replied Jamie with a smirk.
"But I'm not yet. So for now you can be my Sugar Daddy, lambchop," answered Eddie with a smile, dropping a quick kiss on Jamie's lips. Jamie smiled and nodded. "Gladly,"
Eddie remained in Jamie's embrace for a few minutes, reaching up slightly to kiss the side of his neck near his ear. "Happy Birthday, Jamie Reagan; man who I have no intention of leaving anytime soon."
Jamie smiled, burrowing his nose in her blond hair. "Thanks, shorty," He squeezed her small form tightly to his, his hand smoothing up and down her back.
Eddie pulled back slowly and stared up in Jamie's eyes, her own shining brightly. "So, ready to start having some amusement park fun, old man?"
Jamie laughed. "Sure but can we get some food first? All I had this morning was the coffee you made me."
"Of course we can. When have I ever turned down food? Nathan's, here we come!" Eddie reached for Jamie's hand and tugged him towards the famous Coney Island landmark. "I can totally scarf down like 3 of these and then get on a coaster."
"Of course you can. I cannot, though. My body is not used to eating such junk." He pulled Eddie back from tugging him forward and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Some of us are not so blessed to have your metabolism to keep you looking like a supermodel. I have to eat healthy and work out like crazy to keep this gut under control."
"Hey, I work out too. Running around after all those bad guys is a workout," answered Eddie with a smirk. She reached forward to pat Jamie's stomach, her fingers dancing around the firm muscle. "Besides, get off it, Reagan. What gut do you have? You're gorgeous and you know it,"
Jamie shrugged, speeding up their pace as the entrance to Nathan's appeared. "As long as you think so, that's all that matters."
"Well, I do. You're in the top 10 of the hottest 30 year olds I've dated." Eddie moved forward and pushed open the door to the restaurant. "You're coming in at a solid 7 or 6…"
"Ha ha." Jamie reached forward and tugged Eddie back into a tight squeeze. "7 or 6 only? How rude. And on my birthday you chose to tell me this and break my heart."
Eddie immediately smiled and shook her head. "Oh, that's right! It's your birthday! OK, how about I bump you to number 4?"
"How do I get bumped to number 1?" asked Jamie, his head lowering to Eddie's lips so they hovered right above hers. Eddie smiled, joining their lips, her hands sliding under Jamie's jacket and shirt to feel the warm skin of his back right above his waistband. Jamie leaned into the kiss, holding her against him even tighter, his hands cupping her face and tilting it up to meet his kiss. He kissed her gently, running his tongue over the seam of Eddie's lips until she opened to him with a soft moan of pleasure.
A bell jingling above them and a throat being cleared made the couple break apart as they suddenly remembered that they stood in the doorway of a busy eatery. Eddie laughed softly and buried her face in Jamie's neck as he pushed her forward. "Whoops, awkward.
"OK, let's get our grub on and stop giving all of Coney Island a free show," whispered Jamie, his hand moving down to wrap around Eddie's waist. She looked up at him and nodded, once again taking the lead and tugging him towards the counter to order.
"I cannot believe that we kept those hot dogs down after that one!" Jamie pushed open the gate to exit the roller coaster he and Eddie had just ridden. He held the gate open for her and laughed as she smoothed her hair back from the tousled mess it had become on the ride.
"Wasn't that awesome? I told you we were gonna have a blast!" Eddie skipped out of the open gate, reaching for Jamie's hand as she went. "And I told you I can keep the dogs down. I'm amazing."
Jamie nodded, pulling her close to him as he eyed his watch. "You are amazing; so amazing that it sucks I have to leave you know."
Eddie's smile vanished and she slowly nodded. "Yeah, I figured. We can't keep the commissioner waiting for his baby boy. I've had you for most of the day anyway…"
"Eddie, you can come to dinner with us, you know that. My family loves you. It's OK," Jamie held her hand as they headed out of the park and towards Eddie's car, him quickly reaching for her keys.
"No, I don't want to intrude. We had our celebration and now it's time for you and your family to have theirs. All that matters is that you had a good 30th birthday," replied Eddie with a smile.
"First of all, you wouldn't be intruding. Secondly, I've had an amazing birthday. What more could I have asked for? I spent it laughing and with the woman I love..." Jamie froze in the middle of the sentence, his eyes widening at the words that had left his mouth. He turned to look at Eddie, who had a similar expression on her face. "What?"
Jamie gulped, a nervous laugh escaping him. "Wow, didn't expect that to slip out."
Eddie leaned on the side of the car, a smile slowly coming across her face as she watched Jamie's face turn bright red. "I didn't mind it, lambchop. I'd kinda like to hear it again…"
Jamie met Eddie's eyes and smiled. "Well, why do I have to say it again? It's my birthday, you know. Shouldn't I be getting some love from you?"
Eddie rose up and walked over to the driver's side of the car to where Jamie stood. She wrapped her arms around his waist, the smile never leaving her face. "I think I give you plenty of love, Reagan. Why wouldn't I? I love you,"
Jamie's smile widened and he reached up to brush a lock of Eddie's windblown hair behind her ear. "I knew it,"
Eddie rolled her eyes and punched Jamie lightly in the stomach. "Don't get all conceited on me now, Reagan. Let's not forget-you said it first."
"Because I knew you were too chicken to say it," replied Jamie with a smirk.
Eddie laughed loudly. "Sure, Reagan! That explains the look of horror on your face when it came out!" She turned to walk back over to her side but Jamie tugged her back towards his body and wrapped his arms around her waist trapping her.
"I meant it, though," he whispered.
"So did I," replied Eddie. "I fell for you, Reagan. Despite how much you tease me about my height, how by the book you are and how against junk food and corny movies you are, I still fell for you. I totally love you because you are the best man I have ever known."
"Well, despite how loud you are and how crazy you drive me, I fell for you, Jenko," said Jamie with a smile. "You have the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met and I totally love that I have a part of it because you have a huge part of mine."
"Wow. You are just the cutest 30 year old ever," teased Eddie, rubbing her nose against his. Jamie's smile faded and he shook his head. "So this is how it's gonna be now? You plan on teasing me all year?"
"Well I finally have some ammunition! You've teased me about my height for almost 3 years now!" Eddie shrugged. "Besides, you said you love it when I drive you crazy…"
"I do," He leaned in and kissed her gently. Eddie smiled into the kiss before the couple pulled apart. "We'd better go. Your family is waiting for you."
"Waiting for us. You're going with me," Jamie led Eddie around the car to the passenger side and held the door open so she could slide in. "You belong there with me. It's a dinner with all the people I love who love me,"
"Yeah, Jamie but it's your family…" started Eddie in protest. Jamie bent down and stared into Eddie's eyes. "You're part of my family now, Eddie. I love you and I want you there with me so my family can continue falling in love with you too."
Eddie sighed. "Are you positive, Jamie? This is a big step and I would understand if you don't want me there. Don't feel guilty about it. I still love you and I know you love me…"
"Would you shut your trap, shorty?" interrupted Jamie. He laughed and shook his head. "You're coming. End of story."
"Fine," replied Eddie with a smile. She reached for the door to shut it but Jamie held it back and frowned down at her. "Did I actually just win an argument?"
"Don't get used to it, lambchop." Eddie winked up at Jamie, who laughed and finally let the door close.
