This is an alternate version of Girl Meets the Forgiveness Project. Nothing besides the names and location (New York) will be similar to the episode in anyway. I don't own or claim to own anything from GMW or Disney Channel.

Here's my one-shot:

Maya Hart was a little girl when her father left. She spent days on end looking out of her apartment window, waiting for the man that never came. After a week, the sound of Maya's sighs were a constant thing her mother, Katy Hart, heard. Soon, a month passed. Then another month.

She didn't know what was happening. Why was her daddy not coming home? What happened? Is he okay? What did mommy do?

"Maya, honey, get up. You can't stay inside all day waiting for him." Katy said in a soft tone. Her frail fingers ran through her daughters blonde locks. Maya ignored her.

Maya Hart stared out the window. Her eyes scanned people and cars and birds moving without hesitation, "where's daddy? What did you do? Why isn't he here with us?"

A few years have passed, and now it was storming. Thunder and lighting together had the cracking sound out of the apartment. Tears started to stream down her face with no one with her. She hid under a blanket in the small room she slept in, and soon she felt a body beside her, holding her close and shushing.

"Imagine this," the voice came. "You're in Paris. You, Maya Hart, are the most famous paintress in the world. People are lining up to see your masterpiece..." A soft tug at the end or the blanket lifted up, letting the face match the voice. "What would the masterpiece be?"

The young girl with tears down her pale cheeks gulped and replied that it would be the sky.

"Everyone around the world is surrounding that painting of the sky. A sky you love so much, isn't that right?" Maya nodded, a smile forming on her tear-dried face.

It was 2015. Years have passed, thoughts have gone, and hope has been lost forever. Topanga's became popular in the neighborhood, and school was going just fine. A man with ragged clothes walked in, spotting the fifteen year old with the same color hair and saying hello to her. "You've gotten so big," he said in awe.

"Hi, Dad." Her eyes scanned the man's outfit, face, everything. Her heart skipped beats with nonstop thoughts running through her mind. Why did he leave me? Why didn't he try? "What are you doing here?"

The man with the shoulder length blond hair sent her a small smile, "I got your letter. I'm so glad you contacted me."

"Why did you leave us? Why did I have to contact you?"

"Maya, I wasn't ready for a family. You know I cared about you."

"Stop. Just... Just stop. You left me when I needed you, and now you—you have a new family. If you cared, you would've stayed."

Riley Matthews, her parents, and Katy Hart stared at the interaction between the father that loved the girl and the girl that barely knew him. Riley's voice cut in, "Maya, can't you just listen to hi—"

"No, Riles! No! He left me. He left my mom." Her voice started to crack, "he has a new family."

His face fell as he heard her talk about him so poorly. "I'm sorry for everything, Maya."

She shook her head as she looked at her feet, tears started pouring from her eyes. It was then that everyone knew Maya Hart had just broken.

"I can't forgive you. You don't deserve my forgiveness, and I have none to give away. You took everything from me."

And with that, Maya Hart ran out of Topanga's. The tough girl that never got hurt had officially broken and it was all his fault.
