~ A Promise to Protect ~

I guess I was a baby
Crying all the time
And maybe I wasn't the biggest help
When we were in a bind

But then I made a promise
To always be brave
To make sure I protect you
In situations that are grave

I said that I'd protect you
That I'd always be there
To always keep you safe
Through every scrap or tear

To always be beside you
Together as we fight
And I know I'm just a kid
But I'll try with all my might

So even if your just unhappy
With no one to dry your tears
I'll be your shoulder to cry on
And wash away your fears

So when ever you need me
Be it night or day
Please just let me know
And I'll be there right away

Because I made a promise
To never let you fall
Because I made a promise
to get you through it all

And so I'll hold this promise
Above all other prospects
Because I made a promise
A promise to protect.
