Jack McCoy

It's been ten years since she died, and he hasn't moved on. Yes, he's dated other women, had serious relationships with a few (Jamie, Abbie), but Jamie married someone else and Abbie left him too. Had he expected anything more? How could he, when he was still in love with her?

Ben Stone

Ten years. Ten years since he'd been called back from Paris. He'd left because he couldn't bear to face his own failure in protecting a witness – had left because they'd grown apart. But he'd still loved her, even after hearing she'd taken up with Jack McCoy.

Anita Van Buren

Claire was a good woman, someone she regrets not getting to know better. They'd really only spent that one evening together, a few short hours before her death, that evening of spontaneous confiding over Chinese food. Her heart aches for Jack, for Ben – if she feels like this, how must they feel – they who had loved her?

Mike Logan

She'd always been kind to him, keeping in touch even after he'd punched that politician and was sentenced to exile on Staten Island. As his eyes scan the familiar faces, they land on Liz Olivet. It's too late for them just as it's too late for Jack and Claire.

Liz Olivet

She can feel his eyes on her but doesn't look up, her thoughts focussed on Claire. They'd been good friends, going out for drinks often to gossip and dissect the men in their lives. She knew how deeply she'd loved Jack – she'd loved Mike just as much. But Claire is gone now and so is Mike, even though he's standing so close to her.

Lennie Briscoe

It was his fault, though no one has blamed him – not even Jack. But he hadn't touched alcohol since, not even when Cathy was murdered. He will not betray Claire's memory.

Betty Rodgers

She had to perform her autopsy. Out of the many people who'd ended up on her table, Claire was the first colleague. She still remembers that day. Squeezing Lennie's hand tightly, she sends a silent word of thanks that he was spared to whoever is listening.

Adam Schiff

Though he'd often be gruff with her, he'd admired her spirit and courage to stand up to him. She'd been such a wonderful prosecutor – a bit emotional at times, but still excellent. She did not deserve to die so young...

Jamie Ross

She hadn't known Claire personally, but knows of her – by reputation, by listening to Jack and others reminisce. It was at his request that she is here, even though she hadn't known her and the fact that they haven't been together for the past seven years. But she felt sorry for the man she still loves, and that's why she's here, reflecting on a woman she knows only through other people.

Rey Curtis

For him, Claire's death is inextricably tied up with the one time he cheated on his wife. He doesn't like to think about that day – that day when everything fell apart – but today he cannot escape the past.

Tim Bayliss

He'd fancied himself in love with her, and in a way he still was. Why else would he have driven up from Baltimore to attend the memorial service? He knows now that there was never any future for them – not while she'd been in love with Jack McCoy – but the memory of her smiling at him in their smoky Baltimore bar still taunts him with might-have-beens.
