Destiny Strings

Fandom: One Piece
Summary: There are strings of many colors that connect people together. Some represents love, while others represent family and friendship.

The crew was a web of strings. Most of the strings were blue, which represented family, or yellow, which represented friendship.

Corazon had a thin red string of love that stretched far off to East Blue, connected to a certain maroon haired woman. He had a blue string of family connected to his older brother. He had two orange strings that turned blue on the halves that connected to his father figure and mother figure, both Marines. He had three strings that were blue on his half and orange on the opposite ends, two of them connecting to his and his girlfriend's daughters.

He was confused. The only ones that were supposed to be family strings were Sengoku, Tsuru, Nami, Nojiko, and Doflamingo. Of course he hid the identities of his family from Doflamingo. Since it was all blue that could be seen due to the distance, he claimed that they were sworn siblings from when he was growing up. However, he didn't know who was on the other end of the final string.

Then Trafalgar Law arrived, wanting to join the Donquixote Pirates. As the klutz returned from his mission, he realized that his string connected to Law's, orange on the boy's half. This shocked him, causing him to trip.

Even Diamante, Trebol, Baby 5, and Buffalo were surprised. "Cora-san and Law are connected by a destiny string!"

A meeting was assembled. The entire family was gathered. Doflamingo carefully inspected the string connect Corazon to Law. "It's a real string and I'm pretty sure we're not imagining it,"

"What does it mean-zamasu?" Jora asked.

"Fufufu," Doflamingo grinned, looking at his brother. "No matter how much you say you hate kids, you're destined to adopt Law as your son,"

Corazon stared at his brother, as if to see he was bluffing. The poker face didn't falter. Corazon's jaw dropped, his cigarette igniting his clothes. "You can't be serious!" He was a Marine! His mission was to deter kids from joining the crew, not bond with them!

Law was upset. His destiny strings connecting him to his family had long since turned black and dissipated into ash. Yet, he still had a string that connected him to a parental figure. He didn't want another parent! He wanted his mother and father and sister back! He refused to believe the destiny string and would never have another family! Besides, what's the use if he was going to die in three years anyway?

So this was a short drabble about destiny strings.

Sibling-BLUE-Sibling
Parent-BLUE-ORANGE-Child
Lover-RED-Lover
Friend -YELLOW-Friend
Strings turn black when one of the two people die and eventually fade to ashes.
If the other end is far away, the strings will be so thin it is hardly noticeable.
The closer you are, the thicker the string appears.
