Sooo this is another filler for my writer's block (I'm so sorry readers of DKaGC! I promise I actually have more than half of the next chapter down and hopefully it will be up soon!) Anyways, this is a companion one-shot to The Shattered Ones (would appreciate it if you checked it out :D) Inspired by However Long It Takes by Sent By Ravens, hope you like it!
However Long It Takes
Clang!
Slash.
Crash!
Another slash.
Bang!
The sound of splintering wood filled my ears as the stand that once held a wooden dummy crashed onto the ground of the Wolf House.
"Focus, Percy." Commanded a voice, the voice of the wolf: Lupa.
Right. Okay, sorry. I'm focusing. I pick up Riptide and move to the next straw dummy, and began to hack at it.
"You're slicing at the armour."
Clang!
"No, no…go under…to the left not right."
Creak…
"Are you even listening to me, boy?"
I ignored Lupa's commentary, and continued to slash at the dummy as if my life depended on it, and it wasn't long before a plain metal frame stood in front of me; the bag that was once filled with straw was now on the ground in pieces, just like its armour dummy at on.
"Hey!" A growl pierced through the air, but before I could blink, a blur of white and grey knocked the wind out of my lungs and pushed me to my back.
"Son of sea god, get some obedience in that head of yours, how do you suppose me to send you to the legion when you act like a…" but the great wolf didn't finish her sentence.
I tried to get up, but her front paws were keeping me down as her steel eyes pierced into my own.
"Like a what?" I asked.
Lupa didn't answer, but her studying eyes made me uncomfortable, and I tried to squirm away.
"You've been thinking about the girl again."
It wasn't a question, it was a straight statement. Well…yes. I have. Annabeth. That was all I remembered. I wasn't sure who she was, or what she looked like, but I knew she was important. "Sorry, I didn't mean to."
Lupa only glared her wolf glare, before stepping off me and nodded her head towards the training dummies.
"Then don't do it again, or else you'll be the Minotaur's breakfast for tomorrow." She barked.
"I'll try not to."
Opps. Sorry, Lupa. I didn't mean to I swear, but I dreamt for the first time that night. The girl was beautiful, with honey blonde curly hair and stormy grey eyes. I would imagine her smile would probably light up the whole world, but in the dream, she only looked solemn as she stared at the open sea. I had a feeling that she must've been the one plaguing my thoughts.
"Percy…please…come back to us."
And at that moment, I made the vow.
However long it takes, I'll make it back to you.
A/N heh heh... pls no, drop that knife...I tried...it's not that bad...*runs away in terror* Thanks for reading anyways! :)
