Change in Appearances
Years had passed since that fateful day in the airport. She still remembers the pain and tears like it was just yesterday. She had taken her long journey after that and she still is reminded that every second of every day there is something she wants to share with him. But she can't because he cannot be by her side. Years have passed and now she is older, not as innocent, not as naïve.
To an average person, the man was not as handsome as he was the last time he stepped out of the terminal into the softly setting New York sun. He has new lines of worry on his face. Gray hair. A limp from a bullet to his leg. But to the average onlooker that is all they see. He steps carefully out toward the CIA car hopefully waiting for his and stops dead in his tracks. There she is. She is just as beautiful as when he left her.
She is waiting for her car to be pulled around, now a senior flight attendant, she does like to use the perks of her job. She sees her car and turns around to collect her luggage, and stops. It's him. And to her he still looks as perfect and handsome as ever. Their eyes meet across the busy traffic of the airport. She drops her luggage suddenly and as if in a dream, runs towards him. She throws herself at him and he catches her with ease, catching her without a stumble despite his leg. He decided that she was worth any amount of pain, especially when she was in his arms again. Their eyes meet for a single moment. No one knows who started the kiss, but it did not matter. Not that everyone was starring or that Colette, Dean, Maggie, and Ted are opened mouthed in surprise. No the only thing that mattered was the two of them and the sparks flying around them in a blaze of glory. They are contented with the fact that their feelings have not faded and that they are still in love.
Everyone is too busy starring at the young loving couple to notice another girl standing off to the side with a happy smirk on her face. She smiled happily as she watched the handsome man hold the flight attendant all dressed in blue. She knew that their feelings would last. Laura watched on as Nico kissed Kate again, as the sun set over the couple in each other's arms.
