The veil obscured her face just enough from view. It was to be the best day of her life, she had loved him since she was seventeen and nothing in the world was going to keep them apart.
The church wasn't packed, there was no ring bearer, no family, no friends. Just the groom, his wife to be and a priest to consumate their devoting.
The heavy oak doors of their childhood church heaved and groaned as fists pounded against the wood, splintering bloodied hands and blinding red pupiled eyes.

Her dress turned to red as she clung to her husband.
Her mind flashed. She'd wanted kids, a little house in the country. A pet dog, a pond in the garden and trees...
The Priest yelled the sermon above the excited cries of the infected until his own religious words were muffled and resulted in his screams of terror, anguish and rage.
