"One..two..three, Happy New Year!"

Fireworks lit up the night sky in the valley of peace. The loud explosions we're almost completely being drowned out by the cheers and laughter coming from the villagers as the clock reached midnight.

A new year. A new start.

"Happy New Year, Tigress.."

Tigeress, who sat up on the jade palaces roof, looked around for the voice. She knew that voice anywhere. But before she could do anything, she was pulled into a big, warm hug, by her best friend. The tiger smirked softly.

"Same to you, dragon warrior."

Po smiled back at her as he put her down, wanting to ask why she was up on the roof instead of the party. Though, he decided not too and instead scooted over to her.

"Can I watch with you?"

Tigress nodded as Po sat down.

Other than the sounds of the fireworks, everything fell silent. Neither of them spoke and simply just took in the pleasure of each others company for a little while.

"There gorgeous, aren't they?" Tigress asked, breaking the silence. She looked up towards the night sky, as a red and black firework flashed through the stars. It sort of brought back a memory of Shen. A memory she hoped she would soon forget. Even though, she doubted she would. The trip was nearly 3 months ago and it stayed fresh in her mind, every moment of every day. It was the trip where she had almost lost Po...

"Yup!" Po nodded, though he was actually staring at her. He secretly wanted to say something a long the lines of 'just like you' but he had to remind himself that Tigress wasn't his girlfriend. They were just friends. Best friends..

Tigress and Po sat and watched for about 15 more minutes. The fireworks had slowly started to end, and by then Tigress laid her head on the pandas shoulder, but he didn't mind.

"We should probably head back to the party. The others will be wondering where we are."

Tigress concluded, standing up.

Po nodded as she hopped down from the roof. He slowly followed behind, occasionally gazing at her and trying hard to stop himself.

It was New Years and the only thing on his resolutions list was to get the courage to ask her out. And even though it hadn't happened today, like he planned. It was just the start of the new year. A new year and a new start.

"You coming dragon warrior?" Tigress shouted, right as Po slid down.

"Uh huh! Race you there!" And with that, Po took off running and Tigress chasing after him.
