"Why do you like him Rin?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, he's so…emotionless. I can never tell if he's happy, or sad, or even angry. Remember that one time where Koga started that huge fight with him? His face was completely still. It was almost frightening. So, how can you like a person like him?"
"Kagome, you don't understand," she paused. "You couldn't understand. You're attracted to Inuyasha," Rin said, smiling slightly.
"What's your point?" Asked Kagome, whose cheeks had turned a shade of crimson.
"You find guys that have no trouble expressing how they feel appealing. Sesshomaru's more…private. Although you may not see it, he does show how he feels. He does little things."
"Like what?"
"I can't tell," said Rin, a small smile forming at the corners of her mouth. "You just have to be very observant. Plus, sometimes, when we're alone, he shows me how he really feels. He just let's everything spill out; but only for a moment. For ten seconds he's someone else, and then he goes back to the Sesshomaru everyone sees him as."
"Wow," said Kagome, who was truly surprised. "I would've never known that. It seems impossible for him to feel everything. That's why I was asked why you liked him…I doubted whether he was able he was capable to feel love." Rin let out a chuckle.
"Yes, he is. But he'd never let anyone but me see it. It'd show others that he is vulnerable. If they know that he is vulnerable, and that he has one weakness, he's afraid they might use it against him."
"I wonder if someone stabbed him in the back before, and that's why he's so afraid for people to see him for who he truly is."
"Maybe. But I like him even though he acts the way he does. It shows that he really does trust me, and love me, ya know?" Kagome smiled.
"Yeah, I understand."
"So next time there's a situation where Sesshomaru should be upset, or really happy, look for little clues, okay? I'm sure you'll find something."
"All right," said Kagome, "I will."
--
"Ugh, Sesshomaru, you are such a jerk!" Rin screamed at the top of her lungs, narrowing her eyes at her silver-haired boyfriend.
"Did I do something to upset you Rin?" He asked her, his face was the same as always, completely still.
"Yes! I kissed you and you didn't even smile! What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you like me?" Kagome knew that this was her chance to observe him. She looked very closely at him. She saw his left eye twitch slightly. Clue #1! ("Oh crap, what should I do?")
"Rin, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I enjoyed that kiss just as much as you did. Just because I didn't smile that doesn't mean I didn't like it," he assured her. She crossed her arms and turned her back on him. The entire cafeteria was watching them. "Rin, come on, let's stop now," he told her. He ran his fingers through his hair. Clue #2! ("Damn it, what's she gonna say?")
"Do you mean it when you say that you enjoyed my kiss?"
"Of course I do."
"Oh Sesshomaru!" She cried out, spinning around and wrapping her arms around him. She planted a kiss on him. His face remained still but her he blinked three times, each blink lasting three seconds. Clue #3! ("Oh thank God.")
He hugged her back. She fit perfectly in his large, toned arms. Over his shoulder, Rin made eye contact with Kagome. "I'll be right back," she told him. She walked over to Kagome. "Did you see?"
"The three clues?"
"Three? There were at least seven."
