Chapter 1.

Dave lay there on his bed thinking about how perfect his life is at the moment. He couldn't picture anything that could go wrong. He and his crush of 300 years were finally dating. John Egbert had actually said yes to going out with him. Dorky, adorable, John Egbert, The same John Egbert who had claimed to not be a homosexual since god knows when. Maybe he was heteroflexible? None of that matters anyway because it would be their 1-year anniversary in two days. He reflected back on all the fun they had throughout the year they had dated. Their first date, the first time they kissed, their first, all the little moments that made him fall even more in love with that nerd. As he drifted off to sleep he saw his pesterchum go off and some lame quote from a movie that most likely starred Nicholas Cage.

John looked out of his window. It was finally his anniversary and soon his boyfriend would be skateboarding, or some other 'cool' means of transporting, up to his house to take him n some sort of date. John wished it would be something very simple where they could sit back and watch movies. John knew that his movie tastes were obviously better, but occasionally he would let him pick out some horror movie for them to cuddle to. It's not like he minded a free excuse to be held tightly to Dave's chest. John only wished Dave would stop making excuses for why they couldn't get past cuddling and making out. A boy has his needs you know. The next thing he knew there was a knock on the door; realizing that he had been lost in his thoughts, he ran out of his room, trying to reach the door before his dad. Too late. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he witnessed his dad staring down his boyfriend while he awkwardly tried to make small talk. "Bye dad," he grabbed Dave's hand, dragging him out of the house and down the driveway. "Sorry about my dad" John chuckled, showing off his bucked teeth. God Dave thought that was adorable. Both of them knew it would be a perfect day.
