Rocks and Hard Places

Dean tried to enter quietly, but ended up stumbling through the door and nearly falling flat on his face. He caught himself on hands and knees.

"Dean? It's nearly 4am." Sam mumbled, roused by the crash.

Dean tried to respond, but a wave of nausea washed over him and he held still for a moment, head down. It passed, but by then, Sam was beside him.

"Come on." A supported walk, aspirin, water, and some disapproving looks later, Dean was in bed. He knew he'd feel like crap in the morning.

Still, on nights like this, at least he didn't dream.
