:Title: Reach
:Author: Ironically Yours
:Rating: T
:Fandom: Ouran High School Host Club
:Pairing: TamakiXKyouya
:Genre: Poetry/Romance (Hooray Its not one sided this time.)
:Summary: You can only truly smile with your eyes. Tamaki muses on that idea, while Kyouya drifts somewhere between asleep and awake. An ode written by only the most romantic sap to about his dearest "Mother." (My entry for the second round of the Write the Wrong Contest.)
:Notes: This is for the second round of the "Write the Wrong" contest, held by youroctober. The challenge was to write a poem about a body part, but I sort of twisted two together instead. I was planning on writing a much longer poem, but after reading several poetry books written by Shel Silverstein to the children I baby-sit, I got this squeezed out of my brain. I hope it is acceptable.
The tendrils of my ever dreams
Awaken me to see-
Two orbs of grey a 'glaring at the
The figure that is me.
A twist of sheets, a silent moan,
And a curse to do its bid,
And those dewy eyes slip once again
To hide beneath shut lids.
I crack a tiny smile at that
Slumbering lover of mine.
But its the morn, its time to wake,
My sleeping Prince so fine.
I am met with flying hurt,
But I smile all the same.
For when those eyes go wild,
It's the beast that I must tame.
I place a kiss upon his brow,
My hope that he will wake,
He smiles at me lovingly,
And I know its not a fake.
Some smiles never reach the soul,
Some smiles are pure lies.
But when Kyouya smiles at me,
I can see it in his eyes.
:End Notes: Thanks again for reading! I'd really like it if you could take a few minutes and review, please.
