Hey, this is my first try, so I'm sorry if it's absolutely terrible. I'm also sorry if it seems a little mean, I hope someone thinks it's tolerable. Please leave a reveiw!

Messin' with Kenshin

"Kenshin was going through a bit of a depression. Ok, that is a big understatement, Kenshin was falling apart. In the beginning of this earth shattering depression, Megumi and Tsubame made the horrible mistake of leaving Sanosuke and I alone for a day.

We just couldn't take the 'end of the world' atmosphere. We were sad for Kaoru's death, and knew we needed to do something about Kenshin, but we needed to help ourselves a little first. We had only the best of intentions, we sware!

So, to give ourselves a little personal comic relief, we went over to the Rakuninmura with some supplies. We walked over to Kenshin's back corner, barely sneaking past the other inhabitants. We reached Kenshin, and Sano pulled out a box with ink and a brush.

He laughed, "I always wanted to do this," as he painted a large curly moustache over Kenshin's half dead face.

After Kenshin's face was properly painted with flowers, facial hair and cats everyone felt better. But I felt a pang of guilt at feeling better at Kenshin's expense. But any feelings at the time would have to wait seeing as an old man wearing a funny hat was quickly approaching. We scurried off, trying to hide as quick as possible, but the old man chuckled, disturbing the birds on his shoulders, "You forgot the butterflies, you must add some butterflies."

Sano and I poked our heads out of our hiding places, saying in unison, "Butterflies?"

"Yes, I find them quite laughable," chuckled the old man, picking up the brush and painting a small butterfly.

We came out, and together the three of us laughed away our troubles with the fun of a simple prank. When we were absolutely done a weight was lifted, we felt like we could face the tasks ahead of us, to save Kenshin. The old man bent down and started cleaning the doodles off of Kenshin's face.

He smiled up at us, "My son-in-law." He beamed.

We were only surprised for a moment before we smiled back. There was someone else to look out for Kenshin. We felt no guilt as we walked back to the dojo, ready to save Kenshin."
