"Vati get up." She loudly whispered, giving the Albino's hair a tug. "Alright Prinzessin I'm awake." Yawning, Gilbert sat up and stretched. Looking down, he gave his daughter a sleepy grind. "Look at you, all dressed up for today." The little girl smiles and twirled around, showing off her red n white dress with a maple leaf on the front.

"Well it's Papa's birthday!" A groan came from the other side of the bed, causing the two to freeze. "We'll head out in a few minutes, let Vati get dressed. Ok Madeline." Madeline nodded and hurried out of the room and downstairs to wait. Sitting on the couch, her papa's bear came up and kept her company.

With in a few minutes, Gilbert descended the stairs dress in a red and white shirt, white skinny jeans, and his combat boots. "Alright Prinzessin let's go before Papa wakes up." Madeline got up, hurried to her Vater's side as he got the keys to the car.

"Isn't that Papa's shirt?"

Matthieu raised a hand and shut the alarm off. Stretching, he rolled over to snuggle with Gilbert only to find the space occupied by his husband's yellow chick. "Morning Gilbird, where's Gilbert?" The little chick peeped and flew out of the room, returning with a small note.

Happy Birthday Birdie!

I, your awesome husband, and our awesome little girl have gone to a secret location that is known only to us. I left you some breakfast in the kitchen, cause I'm awesome. We'll see you at Parliament Hill.

-With love, Gilbert.

P.S-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA! ICH LIEBE DICH!

-Madeline

Smiling at the letter, Matthieu got up and readied himself for the day.

"Vati can I get on your shoulders I can't see Papa." Madeline asked, tugging on Gilbert's pant leg. "Course you can Prinzessin. Ready, jump." The albino said, lifting her up and onto his shoulder's. Madeline held onto his head and looked to the front of the Parliament Hill grounds where her Papa was standing with the other Canadian Forces.

Matthieu looked over to the crowd, internally smiling when he spotted his daughter and husband in the crowd. The ceremony ended an hour later and the crowd dis banded. " Papa!" Matthieu smiled and scooped up his little girl, hugging her close.

"Happy birthday Papa." Madeline said, snuggling up to him. " Merci, Maple flower." He said giving her a peck on the cheek. "Where's your Father?" Matthieu asked, looked around not seeing the Prussian. "Maybe he's right behind you." A voice said as a pair of arms came around the Canadian.

"You're such a dork." Giving him a peck on the cheek, Gilbert moved to the front and produced a bouquet of roses with maple leaves carefully arranged within. "Oh Gil, the're beau- are you wearing my shirt?" Gilbert chuckled and look to the side. " Maybe." He said, a cocky grin on his face.

Rolling his eyes, Mattihueu accepted the bouquet with his free hand. " Do you like it Papa? Vati and and left this morning to go make it. I did the maple leaves." Madeline asked. "I love it, Maple Flower." He said, giving her a hug and setting her down.

" Well now that you're done. Let's go out for some food." Gilbert said. "Can we get pancakes?" Madeline asked, looking to her parents. "Sure we can. Let's go." Matthieu took one of Madeline's hands as Gilbert took the other one. Making their way though the streets, Gilbert leaned over and gave Matthieu a quick kiss.

"Happy birthday, Birdie."
