Eyes scanned the skies as darkness drifted in

Eyes scanned the skies as darkness drifted in. A slight breezed ushered in the clouds, which silhouetted in the evening sky. Lights around the village twinkled like the stars had fallen from the heavens. An unnatural chill had been creeping though the village all day, but once the sun had finally said its goodnights the chill deepened.

A small fire illuminated the room and kept the room warm. The eyes left the skies and followed the pictures on the walls until they settled on the fire. They traveled over family portraits, class pictures, field trips to the zoo, and a picture which held no relevance anymore. That's the picture which made the eyes go back and look at it again. That picture was easily five years old, but the meaning of the picture held its meaning as if it had been taken that day.

The picture was set on its face and the fire was extinguished. The chill filled the room, but Aemilia didn't care. She forgot about the picture and the chill as she rustled under her comforter; which in its own bizarre reality brought no comfort.

The train was as crowded as usual and there were different faces. Aemilia didn't care though; she was headed on a mission. It was the owl this morning that set her on this track. All she knew was that she was needed by the Ministry this morning for a very urgent meeting. She would have moved at a more glacial pace, but when the Minister summoned one must report with urgency.

She rode the train into the heart of London, and entered the Ministry through the visitor entrance. She hoped what she was needed for was good, because she had to move an entire schedule around for just an hour meeting. Aemilia bit her nails as she walked up to the information booth.

"Aemilia Wood for the Minister of Magic," She relayed and waited.

"Ah, Aemilia!" The Minister walked out of a large crowd of men and headed towards her.

"Minister, what was the urgency? Who's disappeared now?"

"No one my dear girl! Since when can't an uncle see his only niece?"

"Since I've moved around seven finals to be here at an urgent owl!"

"Is this a way to thank your Uncle?"

"For what?" Aemilia asked.

"For upgrading my status and making me a Chief advisor." Aemilia turned around and found Oliver staring at her.

"Oley!" Aemilia yelled and jumped on him.

"Aem, I've missed you tons."

"Uncle, you could have told me you were bringing him home!" Aemilia said and hugged her uncle.

"It was a surprise my dear. Now since he is a chief advisor you both must move into the city immediately."

"Uncle, I'm about to graduate from Puddlemore and I'm on Voldemort watch. I'm an apprentice Auror, Uncle."

"These things can be switched around. Since when has Voldemort been your problem?"

"Voldemort is just as much my problem as your problem. Speaking of which, I believe there's been another breach in security." Aemilia continued. "I believe there were Death Eaters running around the country side."

"Finnes, check up on this. I want a full report." Minister Scrimgeour declared. An owl popped out of the nearest fireplace and headed straight for the minister. "Run full alert and owl every witch and wizard in the field, I want to know where everyone is at every moment."

The group the Minister was traveling quickly disbanded and headed to their duties without a second thought. Aemilia looked curiously at the message.

"Several muggles were attacked at Kings Cross Station last night. They are being treated at St. Mungo's. I must depart," He hugged his niece and shook Oliver's hand. "Keep my niece safe."

"With my life," Oliver replied and ushered Aemilia to a fireplace. "It's time we left, we'll discuss this all at home." She nodded and stepped into the fireplace.
