When the night has come
And the land is gone
And the moon is the only light we'll see I won't be afraid,
No I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

"Why did i have to follow in my stupid fathers footsteps...Voldemort's wishes! Stupid need for approval. I could run away... Potions, spells, there must be something that i could use that could help me?!" His voice cracked as a tear slowly slid down his pale cheeks. He hadn't seen her come into the bathroom.

"Draco...? Whats wrong Draco? Is it a Wrackspurt? They can float through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy you know. Is that why you're crying?" Said Luna, a look over confusion crossing her soft features.

"What are you talking about Loony Lovegood?" Draco sneered, wiping his cheeks and turning to face her. "There's no such thing as wrackspurts, or nargles, or crumble-horned snorkacks!"

"Of course there are Draco, can't you see them? They're all such fascinating creatures, you don't know what you're missing out on!" She moved towards him, and retrieved a copy of The Quibbler, and opened onto a page with an interview of a wizard who claimed to have flown to the moon and brought back these 'moon frogs' as proof.

"Are you also trying to say that these aren't real either then?"

"Uh, yes, that is exactly what I'm trying to say actually. Anyways, why are you in here?"

"I like to venture into new places sometimes, just to see if there is anything I've been missing out on. Are you alright though Draco, really? I'm not one of your Slytherin friends, or Harry Potter. I'm not here to make fun of you. You can be honest with me, I won't tell a soul."

Just then, something inside Draco changed. He felt all his worries ease slowly. For the first time in his life, he had a friend. A real friend, who didn't need him to be an evil fiend all the time. Who didn't care if he was afraid for what was to come.

"I'm scared." He sighed deeply and dropped to the ground, his back resting against the wall. "I'm scared what will happen to me, to my mother, if i fail"

"Fail? Fail what? Your N.E.? Surely they're not that important?" She sat down beside him, and stared at him intensely.

"Yeah," He chuckled bitterly. "I wish it wasn't that important." He hid his face in his hands and began to sob uncontrollably. "I'm such a failure ! I can't even fulfill a stupid, easy task. He's an old man for Merlin's sakes!"

Luna put an arm around Draco and hugged him tightly. "If you don't want it to be that important, don't let it be." She pressed her lips onto his neck, and paused briefly, so brief that Draco thought he could have imagined it.

If the sky we look upon,
Should tumble and fall
And the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No I won't, shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
