Misato leaned over Makoto's shoulder
"so what the hell IS it?"
The bridge bunnies were all working tensely at their stations. The main display was showing a radar image of four things approaching earth.
"Maya - I need to know - do I sound the angel Alarm and call in the Pilots?"
"Def-Sat 8 managed to scan them before it went off line. Definitely not a blue pattern." Maya reported, busily calling up data from various scientific stations scattered around the globe.
Rei Ayanami quietly entered the bridge and placed a large gym bag on an unused counter. Nobody paid her any attention, as she regularly came to the bridge and just stood there. It had unnerved people at first, but the commander had okayed her behavior, and so they got used to it.
"The objects appear to be decelerating as they enter atmosphere. They are definitely under power" Aoba reported
"At their current trajectory, they will enter Japan airspace within twenty minutes." Makoto added.
"Could they be alien spacecraft?" Misato finally asked the question that had been in the back of their minds.
"What else could they be?" Chirped Maya. "I mean, I hope so - First contact would be a dream come true."
"They are Cylons" replied Rei, still rummaging in her gym bag, not even bothering to face the people she was speaking to. "They are here to liberate the Evangelions. Once they have done so, they will bombard this planet from outer space, wiping out all life on the surface."
"WHAT?" Misato exclaimed, "How do you know all this?"
Rei turned around, a compact semi-automatic rifle in her hands.
Misato grabbed for her pistol

Misato was thrown into Makoto by the impact of the bullets. The rest of the bridge bunnies froze in panic.
"I know because I am a Cylon Infiltrator"
